I'm an old time D&D roleplayer. But, I've also been playing online gaming since about 1999 when I started playing EQ. In my opinion the online rpgs are not a great vehicle for role playing. He can uninstall and turn his subscription off on the WoW mainpage. Then, when he is ready to play again, just reinstall and download all the patches to get him up-to-date...turn his subscription back on, and he'll be good to go. I've done this several times over the years to take a brief break from online gaming. |

I agree with the above posters. I do think there are two types of n00bs in the game. The first, being a true person new to the game. I usually help these people out with information and give them helpful URLs to information sites about WoW. I don't, however, put up with begging for gold. Turtling can be effective, if done right. For a turtle to work, your side has to be ahead on points ... usually due to having taken one or more towers out, more then the other side. Then setting up your turtle at that point.

I think there is balance enough. But with that said, each class excels at different aspects of the game. In example, some classes (mostly cloth wearing casters) complain that Rogues are overpowered. And yet mages especially continue to deal out obnoxiously high amounts of damage to not just single targets, but multiple targets on the PvP battlefield and in instances...whereas rogues are confine... |
