I know for a fact that for many parents, "NO" can mean any or all of the following:
1. It's up for debate.
2. Whine a little louder.
3. Ask me later.
4. Ignore me and do whatever you want.
I know this because, although I have no children of my own, I have apparently hired many of the offspring of these no-challenged parents.
Sincerely,
I'm your boss, not your mom. |

Well, I'm not going to call you an idiot. That's what all those other people were yelling when they were honking and waving at you.
You must have really been on another planet that day, since the honking and waving didn't wake you up immediately to what you were doing.
I'm really critical of idiot drivers, so I'm really embarrassed when I do something dumb while driving. |

I can only converse in English, but I am lucky that I work in an international community, with people from over 60 countries. I absolutely love listening to everyone communicate in their own language.
It is like a symphony. I can't possibly choose a favorite instrument. |
 | casinocat responded to a discussion called were all short on money this christmas in holidays. 2 months ago
We have never really spent a lot on Christmas gifts, so I won't be changing that, even though DH has been laid off for quite some time and we're living on just my income. In my family, we have never really gone overboard buying expensive or multitude gifts. I don't pay much attention to the price, I just give something that I hope the recipient will like, but I probably spend an average of $20 ... |
 | casinocat responded to a discussion called Would you someone their belongings back even though they stole from you? in life. 2 months ago
I'd be wondering if the phone and camera really belong to them! I mean, they stole your car! They probably stole the other things as well.
I'm not saying you should keep them, as they aren't yours either. I would give the "found property" to the police to deal with. Maybe they can determine if the items were stolen. And if not, at least you wouldn't have to deal with the thieves directly. |
