Do you wear hats?

Do you wear hats? September is Fall Hat Month. I've been wearing hats and scarves since June, due to my hair falling out. But if I had a full head of hair I wouldn't wear hats much, except in the...

Atkins Diet

Have you ever been on the Atkins Diet? I'm having a PET scan tomorrow and have been told to eat a low carb, high protein, high fat diet today. This is basicly the Atkins Diet as I understand it. I...

Mushrooms or Steak, which would you choose?

So, I see that it is National Mushroom Month and National Prime Beef Month. Which would you like to celebrate more? Or perhaps you would like your steak smothered in mushrooms?

Beetle Bailey Birthday

Today, September 3, is the 86th birthday of Mort Walker, the cartoonist of the Beetle Bailey cartoon. I've been reading Beetle Bailey my entire life. Do you enjoy Beetle Bailey? Do you read the...

Where is my Sudoku??

I enjoy doing the sudoku puzzle in our daily newspaper, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. There would be a puzzle located in the style section next to the comics 6 days a week. Today, September 1, I...

I haven't heard of Making Strides for Breast Cancer, but here in Arkansas we have the Susan Komen Race for the Cure. I have signed up to be on my church's team, but don't know if I'll really walk or not. I know I won't run. I have breast cancer and finished chemo treatments in August and will start radiation therapy this week. The treatments are so much better than they used to be. I also ha...

caver1 responded to a discussion called Would you jump my... in people.

This happened to me recently...being asked for a jump. The man didn't have jumper cables, but I did. Turns out his truck still didn't start and he decided maybe it was the starter instead of the battery. So my answer is yes I would help someone with a jump for their vehicle. Why? because that's what we should all do. Do for others as you would want them to do for you. Love you neighbor as your...

I am from the USA. I live in central Arkansas which is in the southern part of the USA. Our weather is starting to get cooler. It is a very nice day today with sunshine and blue skies.

I have a sewing machine, but tend to use the one at work more than the one at home. I work for an alterations shop and we have been very busy this season. While it seems that many people are still buying new clothes, we are also getting alot of clothes to repair or let out or take in. People seem to be trying to make do with what they have. I also like to cross-stitch and knit. I hope to knit ...

caver1 responded to a discussion called Dr Seuss Inspired Recipes in cooking.

What great ideas. A local school always has a Dr. Seuss day. The kids dress up as characters from the books and they will have guest readers though out the day. The Cat in the Hat Snack would be a great recipe to have the kids make on Dr. Seuss day. Thanks for sharing.

caver1 responded to a discussion called 1st try at homemade Apple Pie in cooking.

I must say your pie looks great. The last thing I baked was an okra casserole. I was needing to do something different with the okra a co-worker has been giving me, besides frying it. I love fried okra but try not to fry alot of foods. I did a search on kraftfoods.com and found the okra casserole recipe. It turned out really well. Last night my hubby made okra gumbo which was delicious.

Honestly, I never had this problem until recently. After having a mastecomy I've started wearing a prosthesis (fake boob) and it can get uncomfortable after a long day. Also my radiation treatments (last one tomorrow) have given me a "sunburn" and so the bra is even more uncomfortable. I pretty much take it off when I'm at home.

caver1 responded to a discussion called Is today a holiday? in questions & answers.

Veterens day is one of the holidays that is always on the same date, unlike some of the other federal holidays that always fall on Monday. As others have already mentioned the banks and post office will be closed. My hubby is a state employee and will have the day off, but I'll be working.[em]sad[/em]

Some days are like that of course. Hope things get better for you. As for me, no one has yelled at me so I guess that makes for a good day for me. Of course I'm not working this week, so don't have the work stress.
