I totally agree with you. Its is indeed a bit weird that way of finishing a conversation, since it is a bit nonsense. I have used it too before but u made me think about it and probably i won´t use it no more. It sounds a bit unnatural and not very appropriate. I think that children are becoming more inteligent in some areas but not all of them. In my opinion, they are extremely keen on visual exercises, that requires a kind of "visual inteligence". I think its sincere and geniune, even though i agree that there are better ways of finishing the text. Its indeed a nice gesture and i totally agree it is an indication of goodwill so it is nice.
