dreamjapan responded to a discussion called What is the reason you have only 1 child? in had children.
I have 4 children, ages from 7 to 17!! I love kids and would of liked more but that was not possible. Between my first and second children I had a misscarage and thought I wouldn't be able to have any more. If that had been the case I would of been happy with just one child. But I was able to have 3 others. It is hard work and sometimes I feel that it is to much to handle (am having problem...

dreamjapan responded to a discussion called Have you ever thought about teaching English in a foreign country? in teacher.
I have been teaching English in Japan for about 18 years now. I started to support our family, make a bit extra for trips back to my home (husband is Japanese that is why I'm in Japan). Unfortually husbands family business went down hill and then my husbands health got bad so teaching English is to support our family. I love teaching, especailly to the kids who seem to soak up the lanuage like ...

dreamjapan responded to a discussion called I'm a complainer! in ranting about things which annoy me.
Hi, I just had a look at your profile and I don't see you as a complainer. As for doing more complaining as we get older I agree on that. We are the same age and my complaints are piling up, along with the pounds I'll never loose, the pain in my neck (no not my hubby) and the kids wanting everything now. As anothr poster said ignore the nitpickers, if we try to write to please everyone we w...

dreamjapan responded to a discussion called How to Make a Good Habit of Reading? in reading.
I love to read and spend what time I can reading!! Unfortually I live in Japan but am English and find it hard to get books to read. I order on line a lot but I miss having a good book shop or library to browse through and choose what I want. Looking at lists, even with the ability to check what is in a book, just isn't the same for me. One good thing about living here is that before the inter...

dreamjapan responded to a discussion called Does reading makes you fall asleep? in reading.
Depends on the book. A griping novel will keep me awake and reading all night. I read all 3 of the Lord of the Rings books in 4 days, I just couldn't stop reading it! But some study books put me to sleep in seconds, give me a math book and I am out of it!!!!

dreamjapan responded to a discussion called Are you irritated when people lie to you? in reading.
I get beyond irritated when people lie to me. My family is in the midst of a crisis because somebody lied to us, asked us to lie for her and then made us out to be the bad guys. I was taught to never lie and that is what I have taught my kids, telling a small lie just starts a chain reaction. The lies just get bigger to cover the smaller ones and stories get twisted and the end is always ugly!!!

dreamjapan responded to a discussion called First awful thing my daughter has said! in parenting.
Kids will repeat everything they hear! I live in Japan and never use to cuss (after I lived with my MIL for a year that changed!!). One day my 6 year old son came home from school and said the f word. I was so shocked that he learnt an English cuss word at a Japanese school where nobody speaks English. Turned out that one father was going through a bad divorce and thought it would be fun to te...

dreamjapan responded to a discussion called Lord of the ring- The Movie vs The book in lord of the rings.
I loved the book, read all three in four days, just couldn't stop. I think the movie is good except a whole chapter was left out, I guess no choice. One thing that the movie had going for it was the scale of the wars, it is hard to imagine thousands of troops but the movie mad it very real. But I think I would stick to the book any day!!

dreamjapan responded to a discussion called Do you have set days for doing things? in questions & answers.
I am not so organised to have a set day to do things!! The only thing that I do on a certain day is a good cleaning of the toilet. I swish the bowl and wipe the floor everyday but Friday is the day to get everything done in there. I tutor kids at home and Friday is the day that the youngest kids come and they always need to use the toilet hence Friday has become my toilet cleaning day. Other t...

dreamjapan responded to a discussion called I've Finally Won On The Lottery! in life.
My Mom always did the lottery and never really won, I think 100 pounds once or twice. Here in Japan they have a Lotto 6 which is similar to the UK lottery, I have never bothered with it. But twice a year they have a big lottery where you buy the tickets with the numbers preprinted on them. I usually buy a couple of those. Onr thing I like here is the new years cards that everybody sends. Each p...
