I drink when I get thirsty~ before, during or after a meal. My family has ALWAYS served beverages with meals (as do everyone I know). Sometimes I want a swallow of iced tea or something during a meal, if so, its right there and I do so. I've never heard this (not saying you are wrong, just that I've never heard this). Every dinner party I've ever been to had beverages at the dinner table~ and they were consumed during the meal. In fact, there have often been at least two glasses at each place at the table - one for water and one for whatever your beverage of choice is.
