Plastic not so fantastic ...

I was sad and horrified to see a photograph in the paper this morning of a baby albatross who had been found dead - with 272 pieces of plastic (discarded by careless/lazy/stupid human beings) in his...

Is there an appliance you simply refuse to ever own?

With me, it's a dishwasher! I've never wanted one. I think stacking and unstacking them takes longer than actually standing at the sink washing dishes by hand - and from what I've seen, they don't do...

I'm an inadvertent spam-merchant! (Please spare the pandas and spank ME!)

I did a really silly thing a couple of weeks ago. After a couple of years of not receiving any emails for Viagra, penile implants, Nigerian prize inheritances, etc., I suddenly received about a dozen...

Do you use a hot water bottle in winter?

I love my hot water bottle, and carry it around with me all day in winter! It's cosy to take it to bed rather than having an electric blanket (which I'm scared might catch fire), and it saves...

I visited my childhood home today ...

I've been waiting for ages for England to have Google Street View - and I often check, in the hope it's been upgraded. Well, today I was SO excited to find London has been done - and Leeds, where I...

Thanks for accepting my FR. I hope you will find my discussions interesting. Please don't take it personally if I don't respond to every comment but I assure you I will read them all. If I don't respond it's probably because I agree with what you say and can add nothing to it. But I will rate each comment I find positive. Thanks again.

guybrush responded to a discussion called For Those Who Think MyLot Shouldn't Be A Place To Rant, Here Are My Thoughts.... in mylot.com.
Personally, I think myLot is the PERFECT place to rant and scream! It's great when other people empathise with us, or have had the same problems and can offer suggestions and help. We always feel better when someone lends a sympathetic ear, and it's a weight off our chests to share our problems. Also, writing it down is cathartic in itself - so, keep on ranting, and bugger the lot of 'em!

guybrush responded to a discussion called Help! I Have A Serious Addiction And I Need My Friends Help in facebook.

Bwahahaa - I too am addicted to Cafe World at the moment! YoVille too - just can't stop myself! I also have an Island, and FarmTown and FarmVille - but I've had to put my farms out to pasture as the cafe is taking up all my time at the moment. It's horribly addictive, and I can't remember having a life! I hardly ever have time for myLot anymore, so one addiction has made way for another one. A ...

guybrush responded to a discussion called Which calendar for 2010 will you choose? in life.
We always have a monthly calendar in the kitchen where we put family appointments, etc., and I have a nice desk diary in my office. The kitchen calendar some years has lighthouses and sometimes has city scenes. The desk diary is a Country Style one, which has lovely photographs of country home interiors and gardens. There is also a diary near the telephone which has pictures of the Greek Isles ...

guybrush responded to a discussion called My son is a 'fussy eater' in parenting.

It's appalling that this person came to YOUR home and interfered with YOUR son's eating! What right did she have to do that? I don't blame him for crying - if there's fuss made over food, it can cause all sorts of problems. No child will allow himself to starve - your lad will eat when he's hungry, and this person had no right whatsoever to come into your home and press the issue!

guybrush responded to a discussion called Daughter's & SIL's gift to us in family.

What an excellent surprise, GB! It was a great idea of your daughter and her husband - I'm sure you'll all get a lot of fun fitting out the new room and enjoying it afterwards. I can't think of the best gift I've ever received, as my family always think of lovely surprises - but my husband once filled a huge box with screwed up Christmas wrapping - and in between all the bits were book vouchers...

Bless you, P1key, and I hope your loved one has successful surgery and a quick recovery. I haven't been here myself for weeks and weeks (months even), due to various family problems and stresses - so I empathise. Hopefully I'll bump into you in other virtual places - so take care, and don't be TOO good because those pandas still need a good spanking every now and then. xxx

Eucalyptus oil is excellent for stickers and tape, Pye - and flyspray also often works! Good luck!

Your cafe is wonderful, Pye - I'd love to eat there (and virtually did)! I haven't visited my poor farms for quite a few weeks - the cafe and YoVille are taking up all my time at the moment. I also have Sims, which I got for my birthday - and I try to spend some time on that. Pity about all the reading and writing I should be doing ... not to mention the housework!

Hahahaa - good exercise for the fly, Hatley! All that weaving and ducking makes them nice and slim!
