Greenwing Macaw - This is my hand-tame greenwing macaw named Daquiri. I raised him from a baby. He is just 12 years old and can live to be 80 years old or more. He talks and has about 25 words. He also knows the appropriate time to use those words. He also likes to sing La-La-La and dance. When he sees that I am leaving the house to go to work or on errands he knows that it's time to go into his cage, which he does automatically and closes the door. He then says 'Bye-Bye' as I go out the door! Macaws require a lot of work, constant clean-up, and a lot of attention so they don't get bored. If they become bored they can become feather pluckers. Their diets are vegetables and nuts and processed bird pellets. Think long and hard before acquiring any parrot for a pet.
