People are really using pictures of other people as avatars? Real people, not just fictional characters? Wait, how can you tell if it's their own picture or a picture of someone else? o___O I'm not using my own photo, but I'm using a picture of a fictional character, one that's obviously not a real person. I'd never use a picture of another real person. That would just be weird.

I don't have that problem at all. I often forget to check back for days, so sometimes it takes me ages to reply to comments. Luckily, though, most of the time I end up posting in topics started by people who never respond to any replies anyway, so I don't have anything to respond to. Man, I hate those people.

Sometimes, I think the responders are just giving canned answers. Some of the replies I've seen seem to be only vaguely related to the question, making it seem like it's a response they're dumping on vaguely related questions just to up their post count. When I first heard about it, I thought I was being trolled. I didn't believe it at first. I support the guy and all, but I still think it's weird to give him that prize so early. There's a time for everything, and the time for prizegiving should be after he's well and truly earned it.

Highly possible. The media is full of crap. Wouldn't be surprised if Palin (or McCain or Obama or any other politician) was completely fictional, really. Reporting makes lies true.

Well, my own reason for preferring Obama was mostly because he seemed younger and more modern. I don't trust old people. If Palin lived and breathed technology, I'd love her too. Now, I voice support for Obama to stick it to all those people obsessed about birth certificates and black people being evil.
