It could be a reaction to carpet cleaner or wash powder. Likely sliding down the stairs had an abrasive action, so made her more susceptible to chemicals she might have come into contact with, which normally wouldn't have had an effect. Kids of that age often flare up over something, never for the incident to be repeated. I know mine did!

I have to do news blogs for my work, and it can be hard finding new things to write about. I found google news one of the best, cos stories are sourced from all the little county news sheets as well as the mainstream media. Here in the UK, roadworks often go on at night to minimise traffic disruption next day. They're not supposed to do it in residential areas - but they do.

Believe it or not, in England they actually did used to "trim" dogs ears to make them look more "attractive" - along with docking their tails. Black Beauty describes it in detail - Anna Sewell was one of the UK's first animal "pacifists."

You can make dips progressively harder by putting a weight on your lap, also raising your feet off the ground to a higher surface like a chair. If the chair is higher than the one you've got your hands on - harder still. Get someone to sit on your lap when you do dips - you'll soon bulk up! Here in the UK, we have a national game: "Complaining to the Council." If it was made into an Olympic event, it's the one sport we'd be guaranteed a gold medal in! Seriously, environmental noise nuisance laws are quite strict here, and roadworks aren't supposed to go on near residential premises at night. The firms involved can get hefty fines - but they still flaunt the rules.
