kuirqs responded to a discussion called Starting Now in gardening. 1 month agoWow! Good for you! I've planted some already, but the flowers have fallen off...the winds must be getting to them and the alternate heat and sometimes heavy rain. Not to mention I don't get to buy resitant varieties in our area and so they have the mosiac virus. Ugh. But I do agree that homegrown tomatoes taste so much better than store-bought ones!
kuirqs responded to a discussion called Do Others Read What You've Written? in writing. 5 days agoI have been a member of Helium since its beta stage, and I did pretty well there for a time. Now I spend more time in an online writing community. http://www.onestopwriteshop.com is a great site for writers of different genre. We get to read others' work and we also get to critique them. Of course, one's work gets critiqued too. There are forums, contests and classes you can join. Sometimes...

kuirqs commented in a discussion called Do Others Read What You've Written? in writing. 4 days agoHi!You are right that OSWS does not pay its writers like Helium does. The two sites are indeed very different. Helium is great if you want exposure and to earn extra. However, OSWS is great for exposure and also for the feedback I get. We get critiqued for our work in words, unlike in Helium where you only get ranked. And so I have a better grasp of what to improve with my writing if ...

kuirqs commented in a discussion called Which do you like better? A hot climate or a cold one?. 4 weeks agoYou do have a point about global warming making everything haywired and hot. We don't experience srping in my country, but I do believe it must be a great season to experience. The weather then must be just around right that time of year, huh?
kuirqs commented in a discussion called Which do you like better? A hot climate or a cold one?. 4 weeks agoThanks for sharing your thoughts on this. You have a really good point....something like "the grass is always greener on the other side", right? All a matter of perspective, indeed I might change my mind if experience a cold climate!
