My friend said I should bleach my son's school shirts as the stains didn't come out in the wash. So I am soaking them with bleach, after 5 hours the stains are still there. Do I need to do anything or just leave them to soak? How long should I soak them for?

I ask my kids which vegeatble they like best (it seems to change on a regular basis) so I can serve something they are likely to eat. But my daughter changes her mind from day to day, its very frustrating

The kids only use these summer shirts for 14 weeks, and we are halfway through that. I have already caused trouble at the school because I bought plain white shirts instead of those with the school logo... the official shirts cost too much for my budget. If the stains don't come out I will buy some more shirts, but its so silly, they only wear them for just over 3 months!

Just everyday things that kids get on their clothes - mud, pasta sauce, chocolate, etc - but washing them with a detergent and a stain remover hasn't made a difference at all. It may be that my washing machine is old and not working so well any more. After 24 hours in a bleach solution, I put the shirts in the washing machine again, and the stains are much lighter, but they haven't completel...

My mother said that too, but I'd already washed the shirts and the stains have set in. I don't think anything will get them out now. I bought some new shirts yesterday.

They are mostly food and mud stains (like a lot of boys, my son always comes home covered in dirt!) I was using oxidising stain remover powder in the wash, but it didn't make a difference. What is washing soda? If you could recommend a brand I will try it out.
