| my activity | mehale responded to a discussion called What Happened to Cutting The Debt? in politics. 4 weeks ago Three things:
1). It is an election year.
2). They forgot about the debt and hope we did too.
3). They never intended to actually cut it....only to spend more, but wanted us to think otherwise.
It is nothing but a bunch more political rhetoric that we don't need. Though we should expect it. | | mehale responded to a discussion called How important are looks in a president? in politics. 4 weeks ago Unfortunately most people do (at least to a certain extent, whether or not they admit it) judge others on looks first and formost. Not just in politics, but in everyday life too. I think that has a lot to do with how we ended up with a do nothing government in office. It also has a lot to do with how they keep getting re-elected. We tend to be very prejudiced even if we don't like to admit it. ... | | mehale responded to a discussion called Is Newt Gingrich The Next Ronald Reagan? in politics. 4 weeks ago While he may be trying to run a campaign similar to Reagan's, NO he is definitely NOT the next Ronald Reagan. Looking at his plans for fixing our problems just makes me worry even more than I did when he began to gain momentum and become a front runner in this mess. His flat tax proposal will only cause more problems in an already broken economy. Then there are the memories of the scandal durin... | | mehale responded to a discussion called What is wrong with being a Right to Work State? in politics. 3 weeks ago I think that right to work states are the better option by far. Nothing against unions, but if a worker does not choose to join one of their own free will, then I really don't see why it is fair that the states say either they cannot work, or they have to join. There is just something wrong with this way of thinking, at least to me....but then again I live in a right to work state and have all ... | | mehale responded to a discussion called The State of the Union Address was just Obama spouting the same old rhetoric in politics. 4 weeks ago Wow, very interesting and entertaining video. I caught part of the speech, but got in late and missed quite a bit. Guess I did not miss much, lol. Isn't it funny how he keeps saying the same things over and over, but little gets done to accomplish ANY of the things he mentions? Of course, to be fair, we can't completely put all of the blame on Obama, Congress has done their part to make sure no... | | mehale responded to a discussion called St. Louis Welcoming Home Troops Tomorrow in politics. 4 weeks ago Good for them! This is something that should be done more often. People tend to get so wrapped up in their own feelings about the war and politics, that they forget what our troops go through on a daily basis simply to keep us safe and try to protect our freedoms. Politics has NO place in homecomings for the troops. They should be a very special time and they should be celebrated. Plus, the tro... | | mehale responded to a discussion called What Does She Know and How Does She Know It? in politics. 3 weeks ago The video link WAS interesting, and it does make one wonder what she knows that will prevent Gingrich from getting elected, but on the other hand it is early yet in the primary season and we don't even know for sure yet WHO will get the GOP nomination. So there is a chance that he won't be. But on the other hand, other than her name in the articles, what does the birther mess have to do with wh... | | mehale responded to a discussion called Will insider trading bill become law? in politics. 3 weeks ago On this one I have to side with what Obama stated in the SOTU. I agree completely that it needs to be stopped. And I also think that their spouses should be involved as well. Why should they be able to use information that is not publicly available to make more money off of the taxpayers when they are trading what SHOULD be public stock and they are using information that is NOT public? There i... | | mehale commented in a discussion called Is Newt Gingrich The Next Ronald Reagan? in politics. 4 weeks ago Forgot to add, that also in answer to your second question....I certainly hope that South Carolina is not right and he is not the eventual nominee. Hopefully this time, at least, they picked the wrong candidate. | | mehale received a best response in the discussion Congress has a new record low approval rate by knoodleknight18. 3 weeks ago American complacency is at least partly to blame. So is the media. Oh how quickly we forget that they actually accomplished nothing in their previous terms when the campaign season begins and the media shows their good side and their stump speeches about everything they are going to accomplish and fight for if they are re-elected. They simply tell us what we want to hear, and instead of looking... | | | | | | | | Here are the links for my two blogs:
