Due to the recession, my employer slashed 20% of our monthly salary. It had a negative effect on us, especially for those like me who were supporting a family. They said that they're going to give our old salaries back by next year. Hopefully 2010 brings positive things for the economy so that everyone can recover from the setbacks caused by the recession.

I love karaoke, or videoke here in the Philippines. When I was still unmarried, my friends and I used to go out on videokes often. We'd sing from 6PM to 12MN straight.

My husband helps in doing household chores only if I tell him to. He doesn't volunteer to do things like clean the room or wash the dishes. I always have to call his attention to help me do stuff around the house.

That's my problem, too. I get cracked skin on my hands when I do the laundry or use hard soaps. What I do is to use a mild soap like Dove when bathing or for washing my hands and afterwards apply petroleum jelly on my skin. Now my hands are less rough now than before.

Even if the one who is going to be executed killed someone close to me, I don't think I can stand looking at him while he's being executed. Even if I wanted justice for the ones he killed, the mere thought of seeing him get killed slowly makes me feel weak.

My mother-in-law and I have a good relationship. So far, after a year and three months of being married to her son, we haven't fought about anything yet. I respect my mother-in-law and if she's not in a good mood, I give her space. When she has something to say, I listen even if she's sometimes wrong. But I guess what's good about her, too, is that she allows me and my husband to make decisions...

After being affected badly by the recent typhoons in the Philippines, I would just wish that my family would be able to move forward and recover the things we lost then. My parents are already over 60 years old, and losing a lot of their investments makes me sad. So I hope that we could, in time, regain whatever we lost during the floods.

I agree with the previous post. Let your twin sisters decide which course to take in college. They may base it on their interests or probably which subjects they like. Courses involving computers, such as IT and graphic arts, are in rage nowadays. Enrollment in nursing courses are still high. Many still take business-related courses. To be honest, I am glad that you made a decision to stop the violence by separating from your partner. It must have been hard dealing with all the abuse from the one who's supposed to love you for what you are. Continue to go to counseling, and I hope he also will realize the wrongs he has done to you and seek counseling as well. Good luck and stay positive.
