I learned I'm allergic to Fire Ants shortly after moving to Florida. (I don't think they were in Indiana, where I used to live.) I have tried all kinds of ways to get rid of them, all to no avail. White rice is easier to re-heat than brown rice, I think. I always make my rice with just a touch of olive oil, plus I make it like "sticky rice", so it's more moist than most rices. Then, I reheat it in my steamer. It works just fine that way!

So Sad for Oreo! This caught my eye, because I have a dog named Oreo, so I just had to read all the posts and learn what happened. It's such a shame that someone else could not have stepped up and volunteered to train her to be people friendly!

According to Snopes (my favorite on-line fact checker), this is something that keeps "popping up" in different versions in the form of emailed surveys. I believe I have already taken part of many of these "polls", but I choose not to continue with them, and to voice my opinions directly to those who represent me. We always give away candy wrapped that has Christian messages/scripture. Each year, we get more and more kids coming to our door, which is good, I think! I was just a little uncomfortable with it all at the beginning of Halloween night, because we'd just noticed a new pentagram near our house.

Santos: You're welcome! It sounds like you're doing a good (read that GREAT!) job! Keep it up. I just love puppies/dogs, and think that Pitts get a bad "rap" just because others have treated them bad! It breaks my heart!Keep up the good work!

This still breaks my heart! I guess what's in my power is to pray for softened hearts, and to do all I can in my own part of the nation to help. All the dogs I've ever had have been rescues ........ One we have now was from PetFinder.com because they rescue pets from "kill" shelters, save them, then potential Moms and Dads have to apply for them! I just wish they could have rescued Oreo!
