A blog is also a website. But is is limited to display information in a specific manner such as blog posts. A website can serve more purposes than a bolg, such as providing information about products or service, adding functionality of shopping cart or e-commerce and much more. A blog is like a diary where people post their opinions, experience, tutorials etc.

Backup your files, reformat your drives, re-install windows and please..... install a good internet secutrity, like Kaspersky Internet Security 2012(Not antivirus, which can not detect viruses that are transmitted through websites), which I am using for years.

There should be no problem in linux when changing mouse. Try for USB mouse. However If you have no budget problem, then go for "Windows". Using linux is free but the free will bite a lot of time configuring things which can be esily done in windows.

Computer viruses do alot of things. They load with the windows start up and slows down other software processes. The most dangerous thing about some file viruses that they delete all the documents(office files)in affected computer. This may cause loss of important files.

There are many ways to your solution. If your monitor is CRT, then use glass filters. Or if you hvae LCD monitors, Try to decrease the brightness of your monitor. This may remove some strain on your eyes. I use computer for more than 5 hours a day. I adjusted the brightness of my monitor to about 50%. And I dont feel any pressure to my eyes.
