You are correct that the word we translate as "hell" has many meanings in the bible. The most prominent is the place of eternal separation from God (the lake of fire). The other is the realm of the dead (Sheol). The bible speaks of the realm of the dead being separated into two areas. The realm of the righteous dead (Paradise) and the realm of the unrighteous dead (a place of fire and anguish).... |

Upon reading this, I immediately thought that this was the typical internet myth that is stretched out of proportion. But a little research turned up some articles that validate the practice.
WOW.
They claim its not routine and that many forms of cosmetic procedures are done for women for "psychological" reasons. Are you kidding me? I'd love to see the research they did before coming up w... |

You didn't mention the exact area but it sounds like you know it fairly well and have some concerns. I would think that an event like that would be swarmed with 8-12 year old girls and their parents hoping to get a chance to see a Disney Channel "star." There will most likely be police on hand to control the large crowds so I doubt that you would need to worry about undesirables hanging about. ... |

I wouldn't do it. The examples you posted are extremes, but even if a friend of yours posts something on your wall, your boss will be able to see it. I don't think its appropriate unless you have a very good friendship with your boss. I made the mistake of adding some coworker friends, now I have to tell my other friends not to post anything on my wall about interviews I may have had with other... |

The Jewish Talmud describes the Torah as the first 5 books of the bible (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy). Deuteronomy only contains 34 chapters. All of the verses you quote come at the end of the Torah, after MOses has appointed Joshua as his successor. The book concludes explaining that MOses has written the law, then goes on to mention his death. It would only make sense... |

It depends on your aspirations. You choose a college major typicaly when you have an idea of what job you want to do. If you can get that job without the advanced degree, then go get it! If you will need the M.S. to get that job, then stick it out a little bit longer and hopefully it will be worth it.
Or maybe you'll get lucky and land a job now that will pay for your advanced degree. |

I was making a general statement in my description of people and their love for God, and it was by no means a complete description. I did not mean to categorize you into the descriptions. I apologize if you had that impression. I truly appreciate the dialog.
You mentioned that in order to know the bible, one must read it. I assure you that I read my bible frequently and have understood quite... |
