I live in a small town in Texas, and as I watched the events unfold last Thursday, I also saw Texas' Governor announce that all flags in the state of Texas would be flown at half-staff through Sunday. I immediately went out and lowered the flags at my Dad's to half. Later that day I went in to the nearest 'big' town and could not believe how many flags were not lowered in respect to those who h... |
 | palonghorn responded to a discussion called Do you worry about being single? in single. 2 weeks ago
I just recently called off an engagement, reason: realized I was not ready to be married again. I've been through 3 marriages, 3 divorces and had an almost 4 year live-in relationship break up at the first of this year. And as I told him, I'm not ready to go down that path again, I'm fine being on my own and single. I don't worry about what anyone else thinks, I have hobbies, I also have friend... |
 | palonghorn responded to a discussion called Is it possible to become best friends with an ex in lover. 1 week ago
You can be friends with an ex, I was divorced 4 years ago, and not to do with that, I ended up moving to another state for 3 years. About a year after our divorce we were able to talk on the phone as friends, and since I moved back to my home state we have been friends. We have both moved on in our personal lives, and I even get along with his current girlfriend. So yes, it is possible, dependi... |

I'm not sure if she has gotten her outside decorations up, but my daughter has her inside decorations done. She has 3 trees up and decorated. However, there is another reason to her early decorating other than just getting anxious about Christmas time. She got an early start so that her husband will be able to enjoy the decorations, he will be deployed early December, so he won't be home for Ch... |

I just moved back to Texas this summer, from Pennsylvania. I always loved the first snowfall of the season. Waking up to a winter wonderland all covered in white. I'll miss that, the first snow that is.......however, I won't miss the days of being snowed in, or the snow shovel, I did my fair share in the 4 years I was there! lol We do get one or two snowdays here, but usually it's gone by that ... |
 | palonghorn responded to a discussion called Genealogy tree! How many generation from your family do you know? in questions & answers. 5 days ago
I have been doing genealogy since I was 16. My father's family on his mother's side has been traced back to the early 1600's in Ireland. I have traced his dad's family back to my great great grandfather, but a lot of the records from that time period were burned when the old courthouses burned. Ya never know what you'll dig up when you start researching family history, it's interesting and fun. |

Yes, I was busy, but it only took a minute or two to stop and bring it to their attention. I pay attention to flag protocol, I also show my respect for our military, since my son-in-law is currently serving this great country, and my father and other family members have also served. I don't need a memo to tell me to show respect, nor do I need a memo to tell me that a battered flag should be ta... |
