Since you are the customer, there must be a glut of credit card agents constantly hounding you day-in, day-out. They may try to cram all their pitches in hour long phone call marathons or minute long infomercials and may run the gamut of personalities from friendly to annoying, smart to eccentric. But how do you choose the right credit agent?

I think to determine the best credit card agent for a person they need to look at: 1. What you actually require, and 2. What the credit card company actually offers. For example, if you only plan to use your credit card for online items, or big ticket items that would exceed your daily eftpos limit and plan to put the money on your credit card straight away, then a credit card company that has no annual fee (or a small annual few) but higher interest rates would probably suit a person like this as they are paying their card off straight away they will not be incurring any interest. (I personally run on this method and it works perfectly for me.) On the other hand if you expect to make credit card purchases and then only pay off the minimum payment (or something similar) than a company that has a lower interest rate, but annual card fees may suit this type of person. It is really a matter of knowing how you plan to use the card and then looking at the providers and determining what one has the best offer for your planned usage type.
