It just saddens me to hear of this. How about you?

It was terrible what happened in Virginia. 32 lives were taken away by someone who was not in his own mind. I pray for their families so they receive comfort and resignation, may God bless them and give them peace.

It is so very sad, I just do not understand how someone can do these things to innocent people. School is supposed to be a safe place, its sad school is not safe anymore. I feel so sorry for all the victims and their families. They are all in my prayers.

I can honestly say that I understand exactly what that woman is saying.....its tragic yes, but becoming far too common and the fact that ppl including myself are at the point where we're reacting this way (its not the least bit shocking anymore) says to me that SOMETHING needs to be done.....ppl continuously say how there were no warning signs but that is actually a load of crap...there are ALWAYS warning signs...sadly though, ppl choose to ignore them and pretend life is all grand etc...They proved it with Colombine and they did with the Montreal shootings and so on....Ppl need to stop ignoring the truth and stepping up IMO or this WILL just keep happening time and time again....

Honestly, there are things we can do about it...for example and htis is HUGE...when the teacher notices something is amiss continuously with a student, get involved....that was one of THE BIGGEST mistakes they made at Columbine...a couple of teachers KNEW (one in particular) these two boys were unbalanced and when they spoke to the parents the parents siad they'd talk to the boys and that was the end of it...two weeks later they went in and shot the place up! IMO they should have made a bigger effort to be involved.... Another example, and this annoys me and angers me all at once, alot of times, the schools WONT get involved even now....there is a boy in my sons class (used to be friends with my son a couple yrs ago) who has always had anger issues, the older he gets and the bigger he gets the easier he rages and he's a violent kid with serious anger issues..He's been in more than one fist fight this school yr AND whats worse is he ISNT the bully...he's the one who GETS BULLIED (part of the reason my son befriended him in the first place yrs ago) so not only is he angry, violent and flipping big but he's constantly teased, picked on etc....Is the school doing anything about it? NOPE...they shake their crooked fingers at the kids and call it a day.....I'm telling you all know, THAT BOY IS A TIMEBOMB....It would not surprise me AT ALL if 3 or 4 yrs from now he goes psycho and shoots up the school or something along those lines... Could it be prevented? absolutely! will the schools do what is necessary to even try and prevent it? NOPE....too much work..too much involvement...its sickening.... Sorry I'm babbling....and thanks for best response btw!

Maybe she meant that she did not want to hear it because she was so tramatized by it all. I know after a while I do not want to hear the same things over and over. I do want to hear the new info, but to hear the same facts 100 times is monotonous and would get to me too. I am so sad for the students, the victims, the family ... I am also sad for all the children that have to hear this and find out that there are such sickness in the world. My daughter came to me awhile ago and was wondering about what had happened. We talked about what happened and the fact that her school would probably have them go over their emergency procedure soon. I want her to be prepared about it if they do. When they first told them what to do in an emergency, She was so afraid that she would be caught in the bathroom, and not be allowed to go back to her class because they were told that the doors will all be locked and no one gets in any class room after 30 seconds from the alarm. She even was so scared that she did not want to go to school. She understands now 2 years later, that they are just being prepared, but then at barley 7 she could not deal with the stress of it. It is so sad that we live in a world were these things happen.

I'm still in shock. This was awful. I prayed for the students and their families. This will be awhile getting through. I hope the students are able to finish their courses and graduate. I heard one guy on our local news said he is driving down their today and give his son a hug and talk about going to another school. Another school is not the answer. This can happen at any school.

This is so sad and I feel so sorry for those family who suffer from this. I don't have words to condem such happening. I wonder what makes people so cruel or evil. May be the waitress you are talking about is busy with her won life so much that she does not care much about what is happeing in the society. But we have to talk, we should talk, because we need to get rid of this, we have to solve this problem of the society.

Very sad....the US got the best for its rules and it's time for them to reconsider their decision in handling arms in public. Not suprisingly, most of the public in US use more arms than any other. I think the shoooter isn't mad..there something wrong with his love life
