Do you type with 1 finger? or with all your fingers? i type with only 2 - 5 fingers.. i can't really control the other fingers while i typing with the other fingers.. i don't think you get what i mean..how bout you? last time.. i used to type with 2 fingers.. like the praying mantis technique.. haha.. quite funny though.. but my typing speed is the fastest among my friend.. and now that i type with only 2 - 5 fingers.. i still can type very fast..:) .. perhaps mylot can organize a typing contest next time.. haha

I think I use 9 of my fingers... I can type really fast, and I don't even look at the keyboard anymore... It's cool! As for everything, it's all about practice and motivation.

how long have you been typing? 9 fingers? which finger you don't use for typing.. and why? haha.. i think it's kind of unique to type with only 9 fingers :P

I don't use my left pinkie... It may happen sometimes, I guess, but I usually don't use it, it just isn't handy... LOL! I started exercising my typing I think about 7 years ago? That's just a guess, I don't really remember. I wanted to type fast, so I just took a little magazine I had and started copying it. I also learned the keyboard keys in their order by heart, which is very important. Right now I wouldn't be able to tell you all of them, but it's important because your brain remembers where the letters are and that's how you start typing fast, then you start using all of your fingers and then you don't even look at the keyboard anymore. It's all about practice. :)

yep.. i also memorise the whole keyboard and by heart..i can't type without looking at the keyboard anymore.. hah.. i actually use 3 - 4 fingers .. and because i can't control my left and right pinkie ..... some sort of born inability... i didn't practise typing like you.. but i love chatting.... so i used to type in those chatrooms.. and after few years.. i manage to type quite fast :D

No I do not type with one finger actually I type with all 9 but no one types or should type with their left thumb as the right thumb is used for the space bar, but I was taught professionally and used to be a secretary. Oh no I do not think that mylot should have a typing test as it would not be fair to others but I used to be in many competitions in my life and I used to type in those days at 90 words per minute. No now however!! as that is extremely fast, and I will add that I had a 99% accuracy.

serious? you type 90 words in per minute? that's why you have 5k post? haha.. erm.. i'm practising to type fast too.. the problem is that i don't have any idea to type.. that's why it's kind of slow for me to gain post here in mylot.. i think i post around 500 in a week.. so.. quite slow isn't it? :D

Although I am typing with five fingers in both hands , I am not typing really fast and my typng posture is not a normal one,also I always type the wring words and have to get back to them and correct them which waste me a lot of time. May be I need t ohave formal typing lessons to learn how to type properly, mylto has in fact imporved my typing speed.

then you have to practise more.. yep.. i do agree with you.. mylot improves my typing speed by factor of 2 - 3 i think.. i been typing alot recently.. and i think mylot also improve my grammar a little.. not very good..but better than before :)

I took a typing course when i was in college so i have all fingers involved in my keyboarding. I had taken the course a very long time ago and even though i still remember the keys when i first got my puter i was slow but sure. NOw after a year of constant keyboarding on the net i have picked up speed like you would not believe i am way faster than i was in college. Although i have alot of friends that are one two and three finger typists and after a while they to have acquired quite a speed themselves it comes along with practice like anything else. If you can get a hold of a typing book you can teach yourself very easily. Happy typing.
