E-Gold, another scam or the real deal?

From it's recent popularity, one can only speculate a lof of scam stemming out of it. From my personal experience, many E-Gold sites are directly connected to HYIP which is known for scam artists 90% of the time. Now, just the fact that it takes money to transfer to E-Gold and transfer back cost money itself. Do you think it's a safe bet or a long term disaster? I'm curious as to those that are experienced and what they think.

e-gold by itself is a pretty good payment processor. it is not very strict in membership application. every body is free to join. on the other hand, it is lax in security. a lot of persons can have 2 or more accounts with e-gold. that is why a lot of scammers prefer e-gold as their payment processor. security isn't tight enough. again, e-gold by itself is a very good payment processor. this is a tip: 1)if you want a reliable site to join look for e-gold and paypal as its payment processor on that site. paypal is the most reliable among the payment processor but is very strict to membership. some country are banned while others are not. and paypal is tight on security. if you see paypal on the site it is pretty much legitimate. but do your homework ok. research on the sites owner and history to be sure. 2)HYIP is a myth. the only people getting paid are the early birds and the owner. i have not seen an HYIP site that last for 2 years. 2 years is the maximum life span of HYIP site, after this it you could kiss your money good bye. some HYIP site close within the year. and the owner or scammer would open another HYIP site to scam yet another innocent surfer.

e-gold is possible more secure than paypal. the problem is, all e-gold payments are final, non reversible. so thiefts and scammers like e-gold. members have to be very careful before sending your e-gold to others. I do not think e-gold is a scam. A closde friend of mine has cash out her earnings from e-gold to our currency and transferred it to her bank account. Check this discussion, a personal experience of one of mylotters on how e-gold really cares about its members. http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1010887.aspx

I think that's still kind of tough to see. Sure I see a lot of good responses toward e-gold but has anyone ever thought about the reason of why of their sudden appearance? I just tend to be a bit skeptical, I mean unlike a bank e-gold does not have the FDIC protection. According to e-gold, once a payment is transacted it is done for good. So in another words, no refund..are you all really okay with that?

I do want to also add to that, although E-Gold can be cashed out no one doubts that there are still fees involved though. Since there's no protection like FDIC, is it even safe? Besdies E-Gole, how many countries would actually utilize E-Gold?

Take a famous bank as an example. A religious organisation is free to deposit money in it. Also a world renown criminal or a swindler can deposit money in it. I can open an account in any bank and publish my account number and tell people to deposit money into it which I will use for charity. But then I can swindle the money. This has nothing to do with the reputation of the bank.

See the thing is that from my knowledge, banks are all dumping their gold and Europeans are buying them up. I would say even two to three years prior to date that there were close to no talks about Gold here in the US. What happened? Why are all of the gold talks re-surfacing?

I guess egold is not scam but is being used by scammers around because of its easy access and less restrictions on transfers of money from one account to another. That is why many HYIP are using egold too.
