Do you think people who are rich is successful?what's your definition of success?or we can put it in this way, does money means everything?absolutely money is not everything, and we cant say money is nothing. Most people tend not to leave their jobs they dont like just because their job is highly paid,or maybe money can show you are successful, bigger house, more money, admiring cars...indeed,money is a way to prove yourself, but it's not the only way.i know every person has his/her own definition of success, for me,it's a feeling of achievement, when i finished something,i felt success, even though i know everybody else can do it.

Depends on what you are being successful about. In business - money = success In art and music - beauty = success In a relationship - love = success So so on. Anyone have any more definitions of success?

It is mostly believed that money equals success.i think success is only a stage.you pass it, you are successful.then you work toward a further stage and achieve another success. As this goes on,you can feel successful many times in the process. So,success is not the final result.Money is not limited, the way to gain money instead of having money is a kind of success.

it is brilliant of you to say that:success is only a stage. like happiness is a stage,we cant always be happy,it's a temporary state.

Yes, success is a very personal feeling and has very less to do with money for me too.I feel successful whenever I reach my little goals that I set for myself even if it might mean making a depressed friend smile or gifting my family something I have been planning to. The world might revolve around wealth ,but success has more to do with happiness than wealth.Money can buy us comforts ,but it can't always influence the emotions. It's the positive emotions of achievement, contentment and lasting satisfaction that make me feel successful.

I don't believe money equals success. For me happiness comes first. If somebody is happy with their life with money or without money, then that's success for me. Aren't we all on a quest for happiness? If you have a highly paid job but you are miserable, what's the point from that? Life goes fast and we will not take any of our possessions when we die. I like to have a job that I like and that pays less better than having a job that pays more but I am miserable.

Money is not completely equal to success, but it is necessary.Maybe in some fields take the earnings as the token of success, but in the other field like a student, you learn what you need or assigned and you feel success.

what you say reminds me something someone has said before:"money is better than poverty,if only for financial reasons." if i could do the experiment all by myself one day, that is success for me. :D

No. On my part, earning a lot of money itself doesn't mean succeess, neither can a person be regarded as a succes if he has never earned lots of money or done someting valuable to the society or his country. A successful person should be able to earn lots of money or done something great and at the same time keeps his family happy. If one wins great honor or made a great fortune but did not love his family, he is not a successful peron.

To me, success is getting a job done right the first time. Not everyone who's rich is successfull. Alot of them got there money from a life insurance policy on a parent or there parents left them alot of money. Nice topic by the way.

Hi I don't think money can buy you happiness or success money doesn't mean you everything and it won't get you into heaven. I would rather do something I enjoy than for the money every time.

Your question is incorporated with many sun questions and ofcourse they are really relevent and interesting too! I think people who are rich may not always be successful! Richness can be a inherited one, or by virtue of born in a rich family one can become rich! But to be successful you will have to exert your own and success is never inherited one! Many a successful people have left their children in this orld about whom the world even don't know! In my opinion , achieving any thing may it be a small or big in ones life, after palnning and implimentinmg the palnning meticulously to attain the goal! That is to say to achieve some thing purposeful and meaning ful in ones life , conciously is success! In my opinion money does have some importance in every bodies life as it is a media of exchanging the things and power. It can definately buy us the basic needs and luxuries which are very physical in nature! Aftyer some point then accumulating money for pleasure in fact doesn't have any meaning in ones life as the money is being hoared and is deprieved form the basic function of money which it should have performed in the market for the betterment of National for that matter international economy! Yes! May be you are right many people don't tend to leave their jobs as they may find it lucrative with good salary and good perks! But then why shopuld one do so , so long he/she is happy with the working conditions! If he is being looked after nicely by the Mangenet or Owner of a firm fior his contribution, he is being recognised in the company and he is succesful in the company and then there is no point why he/she should leave the company or a firm! Yes o the contratry , for a small raise if one leaves the firm where he is already being paid well then I amy call such person as a greedy one! For me I have been working with Stud farms ever since I have passed put my College as a Veterinary surgeon, after practicing privately for few years. Now having put more than 20 - 25 years of service , I thoughhave not made a big fortune I still made suffient money for me and my family! And now I no more get tempted to change my job in attempt to make more money! I am doing pretty well in my field the concern people know me and my abilities and they pay due respect and regard to me! I think this is my sucess as far as my professional life is concerned. As far as my family life is concerned I havre got one son who is doing his Engineering and my wife is staying with me on the farm itself and we are happy with the way we are! Here also I thik I am successful! So every thing depends on ones way of looking at life to define "sucess" ! Thus you are very true at the end of the fay it is our feeling of achieving some thing what we have polanned after putting in the required concious efforts, which makes us immesely happy! The feel good component is the most important one! Thanks for the topic of discussion! It was really an interesting one!

For me money is not that important though it’s essential for the requirement of daily life. Many ancient Chinese scholars were very much indifferent towards money and wealth. They have their own values of life other than merely money. The value of life depends on individuals. To me I value much about the cultural heritage more than prosperity. I prefer to be artist, scientist, writer, teacher etc rather than a rich tycoon, a wealthy busy business man and so no. Money sometimes can’t bring happiness. Only loves can maintain harmony and happiness in a family. To have a happy and harmonious family is considered to be the greatest success for me.

I do not think so.Sucess is what you have recoginzed, and you think you have arrived what you want to get.Maybe it includs love, school work, achievement, money. But it does not eual money. What is money?Does money equal sucess?Of course not,if someone has a lot of money, but he is very lonely, and the friends around of him stay with him just because of his money, and he really has no real love,do you think he is a successful man?I do not think so.

I think in a sense money provide every person with satisfaction. Some view it as a measurement of their value even if they're not interested in money itself(one of my friends said she wished to make much money because money is a reflection of one's ability); Some others' happiness derive from material things, luxurious dressing or something alike.... However, whether money means success depends on the perspective of a person. For me, I view money as an important part oflife, but I definitly wouldn't go against my interest to pursue a career only for high salary.

yes, money itself is nothing, but we still can't go without it.i could say that money can support your interest.for example,if i want to learn english,on internet, that needs money,:)that can be another topic of how to make full use of money, how to let money make you happier.thank you,Tusizi.

frankly speaking, money is good thing.you can buy almost all the things except happiness,time....,I belive success is the time when you complete a task, even it is very simple.what goes around comes around.then i can say very coolly to my colleagues:it's very easy, just the right place right time.

A lot of people associate money with success. I think achieving a level where you have more than enough money to fulfill one's needs is a good thing. But, often I don't know exactly how this person got so much money. I see gang members driving around in flashy cars and wearing a lot of jewelry, but I wouldn't call their lives a success. There are people who cheat and use others to obtain their wealth, but they aren't successful either. Some people have to work all day and all night and sacrifice their family and life to make money. I call that slavery to money. No, to me, success has to do with trusting God and being satisfied with what you have. And, if you happen to have more than you need, then using it to help others.

i dont believe that money equals success, success to me is in things that i have done and have been happy with in my life, finishing college and helping the poor was more success to me in my heart then when i got a raise.

Our Chinese common saying: Money is necessary ,but not omnipotent. I agree with this definitelly. Money can help us to live a rich and easy life, but can't give us happiness. In my opinion, money can't equal to success. Success is to be a person useful and live a happy life, that depends on what you do not how much you earn. Especially happiness, that's your selection and not base on your money.
