,,they only mean that you have given yourself a chance to continue your intellectual growth. It's a little hard to think, however, what more can anyone ask of life !

Hi sukumar, i think the keyword here is 'intellectual growth'. I personally think that there is such a thing as being book smart - as you put it intellectual growth - and being street smart. No doubt a Masters Degree actually hones your higher order thinking skills, does that help you with the daily day to day problems? Of course on a personal note, i think life is WAY more than a masters degree or even a PhD. Life in itself is so VAST that no paper qualification you have will help you through LIFE. How do you explain the success of Einstein, Thomas Edison, Bill Gates, Mother Theresa, Ghandi, etc...

Hi sukumar, and thank you for the best response! I really appreciate it. In Singapore the education system is so book based that the children who are late bloomers tend to fall behind early in their schooling years. That to me is not what education is all about. Cheers! - Lyn

yes and it makes you feel good inside when you accomplish something. So many people attempt things and give up when it gets too hard. I'm guilty of that myself.

Well, that is some way of looking at it. I like it and I think it is so that way somehow.

My main accomplishment in education was been able to obtain an AA, BA and an MS. In life I have had many accomplishments but the best are having two daughters and three grandchildren.
