Are you prepared for a natural disaster?

I live in an earthquake zone and we also have threats of tsunamis. It is just a matter of time before the big one hits. I know I should have an earthquake kit and I know what should be in it, but still I have nothing. The only thing I have planned for is how to rescue my cats. I have a friend who has a kit, we laugh and joke with her. How stupid is that? What will it take to get me to take action? An earthquake? Are you prepared?

We are not at all prepared. Other than some flashlights, batteries and some canned food in the house we have nothing that will really help us survive. We don't live in an dangerous area but like you said, you just never know when disaster might strike. Just the thought of it sends shivers down my spine.

I think to be prepared for minor disasters is good but the major ones are almost impossible to prepare for.

We're not prepared for any natural disaster. I live in West Virginia and nothing happens here. If it does it's very very rare.

I think for a major disaster it is hard to truly be prepared all you can do is have a store of medical supplies and water. I would also have a pantry with useable food. But if this is destroyed then you still have problems. Good luck in your future.
