It's about time. But I think he will make something of himself no matter what. He just has that personality about him that draws people in his direction. He wasn't my favorite, but I'll admit, he was beginning to improve just a bit. Thanks for posting that hon. I'm in California and it doesn't come on for another 35 minutes. Now I can go to bed early without worrying about missing the results. LOL

I think it is quite sad really that he was made to look like a fool to a lot of people and I'm sure that he thought he had as much chance as anybody else, he was voted for and I suppose was made to look like he could sing. I do wonder now what he will do with his life, I don't see him as a singer, but maybe a good comedy act or something like that, he is a lovely young man and I hope all goes well for him. Now lets get on with the show and find an American singing idol.

It is sad but that taunting and ridicule only made him shine all the more. Right now he is still young and all of this will lend to his evolution into the singer/entertainer he is called to be.. I hope he doesn't give up on his dream and take what he has learned from this ..the good and the bad..and use it to start his carreer;)+

This is the first season I have watched all of American Idol, like was said before it was time to go....he did have a great smile and upbeat personality. He's not a great singer but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a record deal out of this.

I think people need to remember that Sanjaya had not had much voice training whereas his sister had..I am sure with much training he will become a popular singer..I believe he will go far..and it's good that he didn't win idol ..It is a good life lesson for him at his age and help him appreciate the process that is required to climb to the top..He really got far for the limited training he had :)+

I do think it was his time to go, but I did enjoy watching him and his different hair styles. I think he is a sweet person. I wish him the best.

He is sweet and I am sure that Sanjaya has a great future ahead of him..At his young age he went much further then many others who were older then him in the contest:)+

I know this might sound mean, but now that he's gone the real American Idol competition can begin. It was hard seeing him so upset though. He seems like a good kid, and I wish him well in his future plans.

Personally I think that Sanjaya is really a good role model for younger people..His courage despite the odds and his ability to come up with new ideas made him a winner in my eyes;)+

i don't really follow american idol much and i don't have a particular favourite...but i've read a lot of news about Sanjaya...it's really sad that he have to go...though i won't say that he's the best singer and good looking contestant around...all i can say is that, he got the sweetest smile ever....and when he smile, he got that very 'shy' look that i adore

Well, I think most people believe it was "about time." Whereas he may have been entertaining, we'd pretty much reached a stage in the competition where talent was becoming more important than just having some kind of gimmick (or appealing to 12-year old girls) in to stay in the competition. Seems like every year there's one who goes on for longer than we think they should. Remember "Chicken Little" from season five? Personally, I'm glad to see Sanjaya go home. Not because I don't like him-- I'm sure he's a nice kid-- but because, at 17, he really shouldn't be in a place where there's all manners of "public abuse" blowing around because he's not that great a singer. I expect if his voice matures, and he keeps singing, we may see him back on Idol as a serious contender in 3-4 years.

I really enjoyed Sanjaya because despite all the criticism and odds, he kept coming out..He was a trooper and I am sure he will be on records some day;+
