A Very Special Kind Of Coffee...Wake Up, America! Snope reports two incidents where people have urinated in the office coffee pot. We hear about this more frequently than we should. I do not know if this happens in other countries or not.
If you work in an office setting or a setting where there is a coffee pot shared by all, do you fear this sort of thing? I do not presently work in an office. However, when I have, I have never consumed office coffee. I just do not trust others. I once worked in a hospital, and I was drinking from my water bottle that I had on a table. It tasted funny...like it may have had pepper in it....something was not right. My co-workers where looking at me and laughing so I knew they did something to it. It was not something I could report because I did not have proof. Anything you took to the boss was put back in your lap. She did not take complaint. Remember this was a hospital. With all the bitterness, and fallen morals of today, paranoid ideas are starting to have sustance.

I didn't worry about that sort of thing until I saw a television special with footage of a man doing just what you described. Coffee drinker that I am, I wanted to vomit. Because of that, I no longer drink the coffee from the kitchen here, at work, but buy my own from the kiosk downstairs. Ugh!
On a related note, there was also some footage of a pizza delivery man opening the box, licking a few slices, closing it and then rining the doorbell to deliver it. How nasty is that?

Urinating in a water coffee pot? That is something I find unbelieveable for a well develpoed country like America! Is it the shortage of toilets and wash rooms? you know this cant even be the question! If it were in my country, where the rural folks dont even have pit latrines and go about discharging body wastes in the concealment of bushes, I would probably agree if it happened when there was a storm or when it was late at night! Even then, it would not happen in a coffe pot, it would most likely be done in a plastic paper! But in America, for someone to urinate in a coffee pot, he/she must have been possesed by some very evil spell. i also agree with you that people are evil hearted at places of work and as for me, I have only one person serving my tea, if he is not on duty, I call for a bottle drink which I open myself! you just cant trust everybody!

I see you are from Uganda. Nice to meet you. Even in well-developed countries like the USA, there will always be evil people. It is not because there is not a toilet close by. They have a wicked sense of humor. They have a need for control. They have a need to get back at people.

A person can't help but wonder, sometimes, why do people do this, is it some form of a psychiatric illness, just a form of revengefulness, or truly just a deranged society. And never ever complain about your food, and if you do, ask your money back and not a replacement meal!!!

Years ago I had a girlfriend that worked at a chicken joint and I heard some stories that would be enough to never eat chicken again unless I cooked it. I've seen the footage that your refering to. I have this big cup and a thermos that I take to work every day because I dont care for the coffee at work anyway. Take care!!

Our food is exposed to sooooooooo many people. We don't know what any of them are doing to it along the process and distribution to us. What abou the salad bars? Who are we trusting with that one? I saw footage of a lady spitting in a pot of chili in a restaurant. And, she was arrested.

I never eat off salad bars so I am safe there...but what about the people who prepare our foods?

You never can tell when or where someone will tamper with your food or beverage. I guard my drinks and food too. Anytime I've ever worked where there was a coffee pot to share, I've never used it, even if I trusted the people there. Most of the time, it's sitting there all day and would be bad anyway. There's no telling what kinds of airborne microorganisms are in the environment, and it's no wonder some people are always getting sick. And there are people sick enough to add a little something to food items just for fun. It's not being paranoid to try and protect yourself.
