Does anyone else think that the Wii is going to fade out? I think the new controller is going to get old and that is the only thing the Wii has going for it. My roommate bought one the day after they came out and he played it a little but now he doesn't play it at all. What does everyone else think? Is it gunna last or is it just a fad?

I can't wait to get mine. I already have some games but have not been able to get my hands on a console yet. I don't think the controller is just a fad. I mean you can increase graphics and sound but they are only going to be as good and your A/V set-up. The opportunities that open up for exploration with the input choices the new controller add I think make it a much better choice. Plus I cannot see spending $600 to upgrade from a PS2 to PS3 just to get a little bit better picture. I would rather spend the $250 on a Wii.

Certainly the controller has opened the gateway to achieving true virtual reality. Something everyone wants. And on top of that nintendo just did what every gaming system before was doing to drown it out. Use backwards technology. More people than you think wish they could still play there old video games but its hard to find an old nintendo that works. I'm not sure about everyone else but im gonna love it.
