I'm personally a big fan of long engagements. It gives the future bride and groom both a chance to plan their lives together, diffuse any potential problems, and to plan the wedding itself, of course. The idea of a whirlwind romance is romantic, to be sure, but I'm not sure how logical it is in this day and age. Too many people view marriage as something they can just 'stop' if things aren't working out and it's a very irresponsible thing to do, IMO.

how about those 10 years going together and planning their lives together and then suddenly fall out of love? what an effort and time wasted just like that...how can we reconcile those situations because i have really known more than enough to conclude on this.
