If you had to give someone a ride today, would you be embarrased of your car?

I took my kids to the bus stop today, and noticed that there were all kinds of cups, loose french fries, paper, etc in the backseat! WIth all of our running back and forth to practices and games, and eating in the car, my vehicle is a total disaster area in the back seat! I said "hey guys, if we had to give one of your team mates a ride after school, I would be so embarrased of what this car looks like! We've got to do better here!" SO, if you had to give someone a ride today...would you be embarrased?

So far, my car looks pretty good. It definitely needs a good vaccuming but I don't have any clutter in it whatsoever. My mother's car is a whole other story! She's gone away this weekend so if I have time I'm going to clean it out for her. She is a very busy lady and has all kinds of cleaning supplies (she cleans houses), gym clothes (she also teaches weights at our local YMCA) water bottles, magazines, etc. There isn't much garbage, just mess. I figure it is the least I can do for all she does for me!

You didn't say which country you are from. Living in the United States, we often take too much for granted. I am very sorry if I might have offended you in any way. I certainly would never do anything like that intentionally! Thank you for responding and I will be giving you a positive rating! Bless you.

we use one car in the family and I do not have it very often, when I do I am aghast at the mess. I think my dh is so very tired after work that he does not care to take care of his garbage and containers etc. I joke to others that it is our poor man's security system - no one could possibly be hiding in there, waiting to attack me, with all that mess

I can relate to that with four kids and constant running. It seems like we "live" in the car sometimes. It used to be a mess, but I put my foot down after buying a new car. It's the first new car we've ever owned, and I don't want it all junked up. We'll be keeping this car clean. No eating, except when completely necessary (going straight from school to game, etc.) and they can drink water but no sticky sodas or juices in the car. Any paper or tissue or other trash gets cleaned up daily. Now, I just need to vacuum it out again.

Well, we have had to take people in our Car a couple of times somewhere, and yes, there are times maybe it could be a little cleaner, but not in the way it could be embarrasing like some of the Cars I have seen people drive. Unfortunately, I know of at least 2 people I would NEVER get in their Car and get a ride from even if I was desperate. Their Cars look they are lived in, and have Trash, etc. in their back seat all piled up, and even some in the front seat area. Now that I would consider Grouse and unsanitary.

no, because I don't own a car but that is besides the point, I don't think you should be embarrassed. The rubbish gets cleaned out once a day doesn't it? So whats to be embarrassed about? Its not like you leave it lying around and after all if you are offering someone a lift you are doing a good thing for them so if they think badly of you this is their problem, not yours. Good luck!

Yes why not, i want my car to be clean and i feel i myself can only keep that clean cause i do take good care of it. When i give that to others , i would be worried till the car return to my garage. I never can lend my car to some one, if some thing goes wrong then i am a bit shy kind of type who wont insist on others to pay for the damage or keep the car clean and tidy. I can't restrict them when giving the car keys, i can't say do this and don't do this which may hurt them. With all these aspects in mind i would prefer not to hand over my car to some one giving some kind of reason to escape from giving the car.

I have to say my car is very clean. We don't eat or drink in the car also my husband doesn't smoke in the car. We bought the car new in 1997, and it still looks great. Our truck is a different story, we do eat and drink in there.

I must admit with three oyung children the backseat of my car doesn't look the greatest. When I give friends a ride I always say " Sorry for the way my car looks" It is emabarrasing but there isn't always enough time to clean the car on a daily basis. I admit my children have gotten better. They now take turns at picking up the big stuff on a daily basis and we try to vaccuum it out once a week.

;) yeaah, definitely! I have a recall way back years ago, our car have holes beneath the seat. It was somehow a very antic piece of car. We have to remove all the seats and get it patch up quickly. It was a rainy season so you don't want to drive with a hole beneath your feet while driving. To cut this story short, i was driving to buy something. All i have for the driver seat is my little wooden chair. How hard it was for me to drive in the rain. I was driving slowly when suddenly i saw my friends waving at me trying to hitch a ride. It was raining heavily and i was so embarrassed that i just passed them by. There are four of them waving at me. But how on earth would i give them a ride when there's no passenger seat inside?? :P well, the moral of the story, never drive a car with no seat inside. :P

No. Never. Why should I? It is my car. Maybe it is shabby. so what? I cannot keep it clean for the sake of others. I definetly should keep it clean for myself, no doubt. But if it is shabby there is nothing to be embarrassed. It is the way I am. I should be liked for what i am and not for what i project myself

No, I would not be embarrassed. as I don't allow anyone to eat in my van. No matter how pressed for time we are. We always make tim eto set at a table or go to a park and eat. Never in a vehicle. My husband and I made this rule to try and teach our kids safe driving habits as they get older. They know not to talk on a cell phone either. If they must talk to call over. I just hope they heed our advice when they start driving.

I wouldn't be embarrased because my car is pretty clean. I would give my parents a ride once in a while so my car is usually organized so they could have enough space. I'm driving a 2 door Acura Integra so I think if I would stuck stuffs at the back then there would be no space to seat at all. Besides I don't have kids so there's not much stuff to bring or deal with everyday.

If I were to give someone a ride in my car today I wouldn't be embarrassed because the inside of my car is pretty clean. I would; however, be embarrassed to let someone into my bedroom because it's all dusty and cluttered up. Hee!
