Do you really ever feel safe now in days?

Now jumping on the everyone is going to shoot me bandwagon. What is the world coming to? I know that's so cliche, but just a few months ago a guy in a van drove up to my mother in laws job and said he had a bomb in there and they were all going to die. After a standoff with police, all was good. But this was just in a tiny town that no one cares about. Somedays I just don't want to anywhere, but then what's the point of life? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070420/ap_on_re_us/nasa_evacuation Man kills self, hostage at NASA building 2 minutes ago A man with a handgun who barricaded himself on the second floor of an office building Friday at NASA's Johnson Space Center killed himself and a hostage, police said. Authorities described him as a man between 50 and 60 years old. The building was evacuated immediately after reports of gunfire. Capt. Dwayne Ready said officers have not been able to establish communications with the gunman. Television reports said the man was an employee of Jacobs Engineering, a Pasadena, Calif.,-based subcontractor. Ready said he did not know who the man was. Phone messages left at Jacobs Engineering were not immediately returned. Ready said two shots were fired, but he did not know whether anyone had been wounded. SWAT officers surrounded Building 44, which houses communications and a laboratory. Roads within the 1,600-acre campus were blocked off. A nearby middle school also kept its teachers and students inside as classes ended. Christine Reichert, space station flight controller at the space center, said employees were initially told to stay in their buildings. That restriction was lifted a few hours later. NASA employees and contract workers were kept informed of the situation by e-mail. Michael Zolensky, who studies cosmic dust at the space center, said workers were gathered around a television watching news reports of the situation.Doors to Mission Control were locked as standard procedure.

Life has always had its troubles. Just bigger now, some are finally seeing what can and often does affect us. It is more widespread now also. Used to be you would just move away from the area of trouble. Time to live aware and love and laugh often. Do not let the troubles weigh you down and do what you can to live a normal type life. Be good inside ourselves and make peace with mortality. Good luck with this.

I unfortunately don't feel safe in my soroundings most of the time. Especially now that where ever I go I have my little baby with me. I'm pretty paranoid lately, going to the store when it's getting dark, or anything of that sort. I don't feel as safe as I should, or as I want.

Ok, I guess I can kind of see where you would be freaking out a little with a scare at your mother inlaw's workplace. But honestly, I don't think that it is worth the time and the worry that you are focusing on this. You are probably wasting more energy wondering if there is a madman running around in your backyard right now, than you have spent chasing after your kid today. At least from the sounds of it anyways. lol I personally don't think about all of the violence that goes on in the world anymore, I have become sick of watching all of the bad stuff that happens in our country every day and night on the news, instead of trying to report some of the good stuff too. I honestly believe that someone is deliberatly trying to scare the wits out of half of our nation on purpose. Relax, take a deep breath, and calm down and read a good book, or play with your child and remember all the good things that their are in this world to live for. Not everyone is out to kill or hurt everyone else. There are actually some of us out there still that are kind, decent, and good. Just remember that. ;0)

I know, but sometimes when I go to large places like a mall or downtown city it can be a little frightening lol. Just imagine me going on the plane recently-yeah my palms were sweaty!
