Transfat ... Cholesterol ... Junk ... Those are terms associated with fast food. Do you take a lot of fast food? Do you think eating it is really slowly killing us?

Yes, I for one do believe this. Sad thing is, I also think fast food is not only a convenience but addictive. I think it is beginning to get too expensive though as I klnow my kids do not go to fast food as much now as when they were kids. They have turn to making a lot of a meal for leftovers to be eaten a few days later or sandwiches. When I was younger and mom was sick or too tired to cook and dad didn't want to we ate peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or ham sanwiches or a big bowl of cereal and toast. This was our fast food. Ate at the family dinner table. When we were at the farm a fast meal was leftovers from the weekend hog roast, and fresh raw veggies. When my girls were growning up I worked at McDonalds and then at Carls, JR. We ate a lot of fast food then whenever we could afford it and back then the employees got to take home leftovers. It really amazing me how now the fast food is cooked to order literally and you wait forever to get a simple burger. I would prefer the fast burger that's already done and under a warmer for a feww minutes because when I go for fastfood it is because I am pressed for time. We used to be able to feed a large family from fast food cheaper than cooking at home but not any more. My older daughters family eats at fast food maybe once a month as a treat. That's it. My other daughter fdoesn't have kids yet and so she eats at fast food more often but she stilld eats just a big bowl of cereal for supper now and then. Sometimes it's nice for a break away from a complete meal.

Yep. I know it is. I have cut way back on my fast food intake over the last two years. I used to eat something "fast food" nearly everyday. Now, maybe it is once a week. Usually now I cook at home, and it tastes so much better. It took a while for my taste buds to adjust though. I think maybe they put something addictive into those burgers and fries, to keep us coming back for more. I have lost weight, not as much as I'd like, and my cholesterol has gone down to. Now if I could stick to a healthy diet at home, all would be well. These joints are slowly killing us, as well as making us a society of obese, lazy, couch potatoes. Just my personal opinion on that last statement.

Yeah. Why is it that fast food is addictive? Is it the ingredients?

In my opinion, I really think that fast food is killing us, especially in America. The reason for this is because on average, an American eats fast food every day. This is the truth. We consume so much fast food everyday that it's not even funny. Those terms are associated with fast food because it's damaging to our health.

It certainly is not doing good things for us. Unless you just love clogged arteries, extra weight and heart disease. They are easy and fast tho-

Yes. Among other things that we do/eat/use today because of the convenience fast food is damaging our healthy. But most people don't care about tomorrow if they can get today to be easier.

Yes, I think fast food is slowly killing us. BUT it also depends how much you eat fast food. If it is a regular thing then I think the risk is higher then someone who just eats it once in a blue moon.

No I don't think it is, I went to a seminar once that explained what red meat does to the body, how it can take so long to digest and the digestion of it gets slower as you get older with an end result of bowl cancer, they also mentioned the fact the Governments will never release exactly what they know about the harm meat can do to you so why are they picking on fast food...I say if you enjoy it then do so but in moderation as everything...

I do think that fast food is killing us, though some fast food places are trying to serve healthier foods due to the high fat and cholesterol in their burgers and other foods. I eat some fast food but not as much as I used to do when I was younger. I stick to healthier restaurants and am trying to learn how to cook so I can eat healthier and stay healthier. Even the healthy fast food meals are still not that healthy.

Mc Donalds-the most popular fast-food! - Mc Donalds is the most popular fast food wrom the hole world!
yes..the fast food is killing us. Don`t understand me wrong. If you eat a hot dog, surely you will not die. But if you eat every day hod dog`s, chips, hamburgers, one day you will get sick! I eat hamburgers, and hot dog`s, like almost all the peoples from 21 century, and I know what are the consequences...but I don`t eat only this kind of food, like others peoples!

crock pot - I cook with a Crockpot rather than eat at fast food joints for convenience.
I think that fast food is killing those that indulge in it constantly yes. I do not indulge in it very often because my budget doesn't allow me to do so. Preservatives in food is another thing that is killing people in developed countries. A package of pasta can outlast some marriages. Forget about those Twinkies. Even 'fresh' vegetables have something on them that isn't healthy. I'm lazy, and not above 'convenience' food, although I go about it a different way. As I've no car, getting to a fast food joint isn't in the cards for me, and I shop only once a month. I use the Crockpot for convenience. It takes just a few minutes to chop an onion, celery, carrot, and then toss a bit of turkey burger and lintels in a crock pot to cook. If you have something to do that day, you chop your veggies the night before and stow em in a covered container and toss them in a crock in the morning with the ground meat and water. Perhaps you add a flavor packet? Head out knowing your crock will be simmering with goodness when you get back. I've two crock pots, so I have one going every day. One I'm cleaning, one cooking. As I said, I'm lazy.

I think it largely depends on the type of fast food you are eating. We are lucky in that these days there are healthier options in fast food than there were even a decade ago. Just think about a place like subway who has healthier subs and provides nutritional information so that consumers can be informed abuot the choices they make. That said, I can's say I have been above in indulguing in a fast food indescretion every so often. Even today I am hoping to stop by may favorite hot dog place for lunch, as a reward for a very hard week. But this is not something I do every day, or every week. A splurge every once and again is ok, but if you are someone who routinely eats fast food, I think sticking to healthier options is vital for your long term health.

I think this kind of food is very bad for most people if we eat a lot of it. Some people tolerate it better than others. I think it is one of the biggest causes of obesity, heart attacks and maybe a lot of other bad things.

I'm sure fast food is killing some people, but in this day and age, everyone knows how bad it is for them. If they choose to eat it in excess, then they are aware of the consequences. I ate a lot more fast food in the past than I do now. Right now my family eats fast food only a few times a month and we try to get healthier choices with fast food, like getting a baked potato instead of fries.

Yes, but I also think that in this day and age they find something wrong even in the so called healthy food. It seems that everything we eat today has a warning behind it. But, if you stop to think about it, we could watch what we eat, but would it really make a difference? That is a question that I would like to find the answer to. They say that milk causes cancer now, too. We just have to live our lives and eat the best way we can. And if you are having trouble with cholesterol or something in your diet, then I think you should change your diet. Eventually, one day we are all going to die of something.
