An open-book exam seems to defeat the purpose.

I prefer closed-book exam OR I will explain another option later. In classes that had open book exams I would study and study just as normal and I felt that the questions were harder, longer, and that there were more questions. I felt I had to work harder JUST because because we were allowed to have our books/notes. Another option that I like was that a few of my classes allowed one note book/paper sheet (front and back) for the class. I felt that made me study the best. I created my sheet on the computer with 8 font. I typed all the information on the class, but since I was typing I was remembering because I was reviewing it. I also reviewed our questions and my notes. It really helped when the classes did that. I thought it helped me a lot and I really only looked on the sheet two or three times during the exam. I got a 10 (A) in the class, that is wonderful, right? Pablo

I never liked an open book exams coz i was slow, one has to open many pages to read, also the time was often very short compared to closed-book. I like closed-book exam coz the time is reasonable and marks for acuracy may not be the same as that of open-book. IN a closed-book one has concentration of mind not hindered by opening book pages, reading and writing at the same time.

I prefer close-book exam, cause it's easier compare to open-book exam, you just need remember something,if it's open usually you cann't find the answers in the book so you have to do a lot thinking ,I really hate this.but if it's close you just do remembering work then everything will be fine.

in my opinion,if you learn a subject with a book that is mainly introducing how diffirent kinds of machines are working or the requirement as a operator should know.we see this kind of subjest as something like reference. if so,taking an open-book exam is better.`~~

When we had an open book exam, the answers to the questions weren't there because the questions are basically applications. There was even a where the exam was open-book but we have to avoid erasures, and we have limited time also in answering... When it's closed book, it's difficult too since there are terms to memorize and stuffs... SO... I prefer closed-book exams... Ahihihi.. I'll just have to read my notes then... (If I have the nerve to study).^_^

I like open-book exam. because I often forget.. so, if the exam is open-book, I also don't have to study hard.. but I sometimes really hate my teacher. if the exam is theory and open-book exam, the questions aren't in the book! or if the exam is mathematic or physics, the questions are very hard to be answered.. Hikz..
