What If........

If i have come to know that other person has already started same discusion then I will go there and put my responces there! WHY SHOULD THEN I START IT AGAIN?

Only if I notice someone has recently started the same type of discussion would I then wait, because I would not want someone to think I was copying off of them, as I want to keep Unique and personal when it comes to my postings and discussions here on myLot. Recently there was a Subject I was going to discuss on here, and found a Discussion just started like it, so I felt it was best to hold off until later. But Personally from my point of view, there are way too many people and discussions on here I feel that would Worry about 2 people starting the same type of discussion on here, unless the 2nd person deliberately used the same words or type of words as the person who started the discussion before them.

That is a very good question. If that happens i usually read the post that is similiar to my post, and read the responses, and try to write a post about the same subject, but that can relate to the people's responses. That way i am not repeating the same post and not disobeying any mylot rules. It did happen that i opened a post that was similiar to another post, but that was by mistake. I do check it before but somtimes mistakes happen. By the way, i did notice that latly alote of posts that are the same are being opened, and i am talking about exactly the same. I do not understand why people do not check it first.

I think if the person is on your friends list or if you "just saw" the discussion, then just respond to their discussion and do not post your own. NOW, there are times when the same topic goes round and round, but with so many members here at Mylot, it is almost impossible to check every single discussion to make sure it has not been posted before. Besides, maybe I post something today about driving a car, then the people in my firends list and a few others answer. That does not mean all 88,000 are going to see this discussion to reply to it. Then maybe someone else does a similar topic to mine, but their friends & others respond. I may never even see their topic. As long as something is not copied word for word or copy & paste, it doesn't really bother me in the least. I have had several topics that other people have mirrored. Does it mean they saw mine and re-used the topic? Maybe, maybe not. I'm not going to accuse anyone unless they are my exact words.

Okay, even I have faced same problem some 10 days back. I was about to start a discussion and suddenly I found same discussion was started some 2 minutes ago. I was feeling very upset as I felt , I would get lot of responses on same. Then I wrote the discussion and decided to wait for few days to start the topic. But really I was kind of upset that somebody has real same idea about the topic.

If I see it, I will also respond to the existing one. One way or the other I get my point out there and that is why I am here. ;-)
