Marriage proposals...

My husband walked in the house on Valentines day with a box and a huge teddy bear. He pretty much threw the stuff at me and said "Are you going to marry me or not?" lmao I think he was a tad bit nervous and not sure what to do, lol. I laugh about it to this day.... We got married in front of a justice of the peace, no big wedding :-(

Well, when we got "engaged" it was because my sister proposed to us actually!. She was a wedding planner at the time and I guess business was slow. We were just planning on moving in together at the time because the house was available and we wanted a summer wedding. She basically decided to take over and started planning our December wedding instead. One night she just handed us her calendar with the dates she had available and told us to pick one, but closer to Christmas was better for her because she already had the centerpieces done and thought they would be perfect for a Christmas-time wedding. We were kind of shocked by the whole thing but she kept insisting and went about making all the arrangements. So on December 27, 1998 we got married...3 1/2 years later we separated. My current s/o and I have talked about it and I do have the ring but for some reason he can't "make that commitment" to actually have the wedding...he can't even commit to living together. I think if you want the custom, then you'll have to tell him. Guys don't usually think of those things, especially if you two are already talking about marriage, he probably doesn't think he HAS to actually officially ask you.
