What do you think about people pushing their religion on you??

They show up at your door right when you are sitting down to dinner or sleeping in on saturdays, they preach at your local grocery store, they go to our colleges, they work with you and in passing mention the word of christ, where to you draw the line. If you are not religious how do you politely tell them to go screw themselves. If you are religious, why would you try to force someone into something that it is obvious that they have already made up their mind on??

i'm not religous nor a religous, but for these people who comes to your door step or wherever they bump you, if you could only listen to them they mean no harm on you. For them, they are just doing their part for spreading the teachings of their religion. i know they make you feel irritated instead you still need to be polite in stopping them or just say sorry im not interested.

yes, there are those who are forcing religion on us, even though we keep on telling them that we have our own faith and religion, they still keep on bothering us. well we can turn them down by saying good words.and careful not to hurt their feelings.

i try to be polite for as long as possible. but there are some ppl that just wont stop pushing and that pisses me off, especially if ive already told them "im not interested" more than once. by the time ive had to say im not interested a third time then i flat out tell them to shut up for a minute..then tell them that "thanks to your being so rude and pushy, i wont ever be interested in your church or religion..you need to rethink your own choice of religion if this is how it tells you to act towards others." then i slam the door in their face. tadaa! lol

To be honest they drive me crazy sometimes, and now they are here on this site and on the internet. It seems that everywhere you go there are people preaching at you, certainly in our local high street every day. I bet if I started pushing my beliefs onto them I would be burnt at the stake or tied up and thrown into the nearest lake :-)

That is the one thing that really burns my biscuit. I cannot stand to have relgion shoved down my throat. I feel I am quite capable of asking something if I want to know. I have had representitives of various relgions come to my door--they dont' accept the 'sorry I am not interested' speech. I have even gotten to the point where I quite bluntly say, Look, I am a Witch and I am simply not interested in hearing about the aspects of your relgion. But if I ever find myself unable to answer a question, leave me your card, and I will be sure to call you...even being that blunt, I could NOT get rid of them. I hate being rude and slamming doors in faces, really I do but sometimes that is the only way to get out of it. The ones that go door to door are taught to do this at a very young age from what I have understood.

I can't take when some one forces to adopt their religion, it hurts me. I really don't think there is any necessity to force some one to change their religion. And if some one approaches me in public places i would be the most irritated person and i don't mind letting them know what they are doing is a wrong thing. I may lash hard at them if they insist and trouble me for long.
