Well, my fellow mylotters, I just got married today. We did a quick and quiet ceremony at the local magistrates office in Fayetteville, NC and it was such a beautiful day today. I know this sounds silly, but I wore black to my wedding. hehehe! I wore white to my other two weddings, that obviously didn't work out. I am not one for superstitions but I figured hey...lets go with the opposite end of the spectrum and see what happens. He wore his ACU's (military uniform), he had to go back to work LOL. No honeymoon for us! We did stop to get a gyro at a local greek place and he surprised me with a small flower arrangement. Two white roses with a spray of babys breath. He said one rose is for a special lady and the other rose is for a special day. I thought that was so sweet. Well, wish us luck on our new life together!

Thanks so much! I truly appreciate it! Neither of our families could make it, so it was kind of sad that we didnt have anyone close to us to attend the little ceremony, but it is alright, we have each other! Thanks again!

yeah, you don't need a bunch of people to make a good wedding! There are only 3 people that matter in them, the bride, groom and preacher :) Good luck forever! :)

Congratulations!! I hope everything works out for you. When I got married we went to the JP headed to Olive Garden for dinner with his family and then he headed off to work. There was no honey moon for us either. Keep us updated on how your marriage is going and good luck!

Yeah, I know how the time schedule goes. He took me and our daughter out to dinner this evening and that was very nice. We went to our favorite restaurant, and came home. The phone has been ringing all night. This is the first chance I have had to respond to commments and emails tonight!

Hey Mamasan!! Congratulations!!!!!!! Funny thing about Fayetteville, NC. . . I just looked on a map to see where it is about an hour ago! I'm looking for work and I kept finding jobs in Fayetteville and I live in Marion. Finally, I decided to look on a map to see if it was close to me. It's not close enough! But, back to YOU!! Congratulations on your marriage. I wish you many of the Lord's blessings for the rest of your life!!

Thanks so much! I sincerely appreciate that! I know Marion is a bit of a hike from Fayetteville. I got offered a job in Clinton, but it was so far away, I decided to find something closer. Well, good luck on the job search and thanks so much for the blessings and well wishes!

The very best of luck to you both! And I mean that sincerely. Myslef and my husband got married in the same way, small scale with just 2 guests for witnesses. I think it doesn't really matter what kind of wedding you have, what matters is that you love each other and want to make it work. Only time will tell! Good luck anyway.......

I feel the same, I think the type of wedding you have is not so important as how you live your life together and make it work. Take care and thanks so much for the well wishes!

Congratulations mamasan! I don't blame you for wearing black, I didn't wear white to my second wedding either, and skipped the big ceremony and opted for the courthouse. It was more "us." All that matters is that you remember how much you love each other today, congrats again!

I agree, I thought having a big ceremony was going to be too much trouble, we wanted to have a quiet ceremony and be very casual. We had two of his soldiers witness the ceremony and that was fine. We are very happy today, and relieved, I was so nervous I thought I was going to throw up, hahaha!

congratulations! I think that is funny you wore black. Hey why not if white didn't work out like you said something needs to be switched up. I love it when guys wear their army uniforms for weddings My hubby is in the military too and they all look so sharp in them. Too bad he had to go back to work you will have to start the honeymoon when he comes home :)

Congradulations, it sounds like you did sorta like us, when we got married we got married by the magistrate, then my husband went on into work. We have been married for almost twenty years so apparently its working, LOL We do need to go on a honeymoon one of these days, maybe when all the kids are grown and married we will finally go on our honeymoon. I wore blue jeans to get married in, I would like to get remarried and have a nice dress, and all the trimmings. Maybe we will one of these days. Anyway, congradulations. And I hope you have a great marrriage and that it lasts many many many years.

That is a Great news! Your heart must have been soaring even without the wings, lol.I read this post only now, but I am sure the magic is still alive and you are still celebrating ,lol.Congratulations and I wish you both a very happy relationship.Sometimes, I feel the white roses convey the message of subtle love better than the red roses.

A quiet dinner, movie and doing laundry together sounds better than a picnic, lol.I understand it can be difficult letting your husband leave within two weeks of marriage.I am sure he is proud of you for being so understanding.

I feel very happy still today. I still have the white roses sitting here at my desk so I can see them when I am at the computer. It was a very nice day for us. We aren't able to do much these days, but we are going to have a quiet dinner at home and watch a movie and do laundry lol! He has to pack his equipment to go to Iraq. They are shipping all of their stuff over before they deploy. It is kind of bitter sweet, but that is my job now as an army wife! Thanks for commenting.

Sometimes I think eloping or small ceremonies are much more romantic and lessen the stress of beginning a marriage. There is so much stress related to having a big wedding, we did that before and just didn't want to do that again. Thanks for the comment and I hope we have that understanding and compassion as well!
