I have just opened my pool and I want to be prepared for this year. Last year my pool was cloudy all summer. I tried everything from shock, algea products, I even had it tested and they said it was fine. Anyone have this problem and can help. Is it a mineral problem? It is an aboveground pool. Any advice would be great.

I have had the same problem before. If you still have problems after shocking, clorinating and putting algecide in it. Get some clarifier, that helped my pool. I had to keep cleaning the filter out a few times a day until it cleared up. Good luck, its still to early for me to get my pool up and running.

i used clarifier before and it made me have dirt on the bottom of the pool all the time. do you have a cartridge filter? i do and it is the worst thing ever. i opened it up early so that it will fill up by the rain as i have a well and the water runs out when i fill it up. PLUS it is 85 degrees today. Yippee. tomorrow not so nice but it sure makes you want to swim. : )

I have had one of the simple set pools with a filter cartridge. This year I am going to get a big pool with a sand filter and also a filter cartridge. Good luck with your water, its a job keeping the pool clean.

well my advice is to make sure you get a sand filter. once i save up enough money i am going to buy one. we just got a hot tub and guess what...it has two cartridge filters. what was i thinking???????????
