God parents?

Who would you choose to be your child's god parent and why? I would choose a family member or a close friend. I would have to go with someone I could trust with my kid{s} you know what i am talking about.

I choose my mother and my step for for my son's godparents when he was a baby. I did not really have friends at the time that I thought would serve as good godparents and I didn't want to make a mockery of the how thing and so I took the two people I felt could raise him well if I couldn't do it.

When my 2 sons got baptized, their godparents were family members (my brothers / sisters and husband's brod / sisters) and close friends like an officemate who's close to me or to my husband. I also like somebody that we know well. Godparents are like the second parents of our children. Therefore, it is better if we know their character and personality fully because they are the ones who will help us parents to guide our kids.
