Why do people post ads with crazy claims in mylot?

Now don't get me wrong, I don't mind having honest ads in mylot. I'm always open to new opportunities and products.
The thing is, I see some ads throwing crazy figures and asking people to join them. Anyone with the slightest experience in the field will laugh it off as a bad joke.
Why would anyone want to get referrals with crazy claims? They would just end up with a lot of inactive referrals and no money.
What do you think?

I agree it is best to be honest. People will discover for themselves anyway and it will have all been for nothing, so you may as well be honest. Be honest and let the people make up their own minds.

Honestly is a lacking quality in marketing nowadays, even though it is the most important one for long term business. Thanks for the reply inallduetime!

I fully agree with you in this observation, Initially I joined lots of programme that mylot people are sensible ones and would be putting right kind of things here only but later I found out that most of them turned out to be non paying ones.
