What is with CEP files?

This confuses me as some things seem to need it and others don't. I assume it has something to do with custom content, but what does it do? Where do you put them when you download them? How are they part of the game. I just wondered this stuff.

CEP stands for Color Enable Package. You can get it here....... http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=92541 It explains it a little bit. I think you might have to register at this site but it is free and well worth it. I get most of my downloads from this site.

You should only have to download it one time by what I read on the website. Once you download it it is there and enables the CEP files to run.

Okies, thanks for the information. Now if my downloaded stuff would just quit crashing my game, I would be totally happy. lol.

Is this just one pack that you have to have, or do I need to download it with EVERY item I get that requires it?

Where are you finding CEP files? The only reference I can find for them either are game files for the Sims2 or they are linex files.

I'm downloading some new items from thesimsresource.com and there are quite a few bedding files that require you to download a CEP file and I never did understand what it was. I think it has something to do with the whole bed, rather than just the bedding. Custom content...
