Have you noticed that when you are boarding a public vehicle in the philippines, like a jeepney, when one passenger made a gesture of removing his/her morning glory ("muta" in tagalog), others will soon follow? It is funny, but i've always noticed that.

Yes, i notice that too. Maybe because people othink they also have them so they check. And because some people tend to give signals using their hands, to prevent embarassment, so others see it as a signal "you have them on your eyes".

Yes, I notice this almost always and not only in a public vehicle. It also happens when you're talking to someone and then suddenly he makes that gesture. It makes you feel like you have it so the tendency is for you to do the same. Also, when somebody tries to rubs his nose as if trying to remove a boogey or something, or wiping the sides of their mouths to take off dried saliva,it makes you feel that you have them too, so you mirror the gesture. It's more psychological and indeed funny sometimes. :)
