Just curious to see what people think this world will be like in 20 years. Any thoughts? Political? Technological? Medical? Ecological? Let's hear it.

I think the world will be in even worse shape than it is now in every way including politically if it stands for another 20 years. Technological? I think men already try to be God and it will get even worse as they come up with new ways to be God. Medical will be worse because Doctors are getting where they don't know anything and if they do they certainly aren't telling their patients so I hate to even imagine what it will be like 20 years from now. You will probably be able to walk out in broad daylight and kill someone and nothing be done. I don't believe this world will get any better.

Have some faith--for that is the only way humanity will survive. As for playing God, I believe the Creator intended for us to use our smarts, it is simply when we forget Love and common sense that all goes to Hades...

We defy God, when we forget Love. We defy God, and our own existence when we try to defy nature. Again, I reiterate, we were meant to discover and explore. We were also meant to Love and to reason, and to care what we're doing, and how our actions will effect ourselves and everyone and everything around us.

I don't understand why people aren't responding to this discussion as I'm sure there is so much to say . So I'd better stick to one subject . The most pressing; GLOBAL WARMING . If we seriously do not wise up and act now in 20 years time the world may appear to be the same but could well be headed for the catastrophic decline predicted yet ignored by politicians and developing countries . Certain animal species will become extinct , sea levels will rise and threaten our shores , weather patterns will become even more eratic , and it may well by then be too late to do anything about it .

You are very right for your concern, thankfully, (and hopefully not too late) some people are starting to open their eyes, let's hope it's not too late. dr...

i started almost the same discussion, only mine was about the future in 50 years, 100 years, 500 years. Unfortunately it got zero responses and still is up to now:( but actually, 20 years i don't really seem to see much happening - even though i know that even in 10 years time a lot can happen. I recall hearing about a large asteroid or comet that's headed for earth in around 2026. scientists are working out ways to somehow prevent it from wiping out earth's population if it does hit earth - hopefully it won't come anywhere near because even a small disturbance can lead to disaster. Politically would definitely be the most unpredictable - most likely, they will have new surveilance technologies to read our minds - they already have developed a brain scanner. Technologically - i suspect that we will be able to use renewable energy for the first time (yes i think politics makes it slow in implementing). Computers will be ten times bigger and only one man will be able to own one - kidding. actually - computers will be implemented on all our household objects - they have already started to develop plastic electronics and have already figured out ways to print circuits on better materials than silicon. I heard that rockafella wanted to microchip the population a while back. Ecologically, Hopefully the world won't be destroyed by a nuclear war.

I've marked yours best because you've had a lot to say, and it seems you've put a bit of thought into it. Seems like you believe a lot like me, that there is vast potential that humans can tap into but the very natures of our greedy, fear, paranoia, selfishness, may very well destroy us or turn us into a slave state. Fantastic response. Thank you. dr...
