My baby is now 8 months old today. I have no excuse why I have not lost the "baby weight"- except for laziness. I am staying at home with him for now and therefore have the time to walk and prepare healthy meals. My husband and I started Weight Watchers, he has lost 6 pounds and I have lost 9 pounds. It is like we have hit a plateau. My husband has about 40 more pounds to loose - while I have about 15 to get back down to where I would fit comfortably into my pre pregnancy clothes. Is anyone out there doing Weight Watchers? Any Advice? ~at home mommy~ http://mommyathomefornow.blogspot.com www.personalgrowthresources.net

No, I'm not doing weight watchers; however, I did lose about 65 lbs after my last baby. I was 230 when I came home from the hospital (she was almost nine pounds) and was around 165 before I started working again. (I have gained about twenty since I started working but will lose it again this summer as I am returning to full time mom status). People don't like my answer for how I did it, but I have to be honest. First I read Dr. Phil's book "Ultimate Weight Loss Solution", it brought to light a lot of things about me and about food that I take for granted or wasn't aware of (like how many pounds 1 pepsi everyday equals in one year!) The change in my thinking led to smaller portions (not SMALL portions just smaller) and before I knew I just shrunk. It took about six months total to lose the bulk of it. Having a little one to chase after helped the exercising a bit, but I could have done more. Hope this helps! p.s. tickerfactory.com has cute countdown tickers for weight loss and stuff!

Thanks to both of you for the comments. Thats interesting about Dr. Phil's book. I may have to look for that at half price books someday- sounds like a good read. That is great that you lost all of that weight! I gained about 45 with my son. He was 9 lbs / 9oz... I like your answer as I have heard similar. Mostly what I have heard is that if you just cut what you would normally eat in half and increase your water intake and walk a few days a week - you will loose. I think its just a matter of patience and commitment. ~at home mommy~ http://mommyathomefornow.blogspot.com www.personalgrowthresources.net

weight watchers is great. i did it after my son was born and lost right at 20 lbs, but then let up on it. I was stupid so I have gained it all back. Need to get back on it, actually. Hitting plateaus are so frustrating. Maybe just up your exercise by a few minutes or change your exercise around. LIke if you have been doing tae-bo, try yoga or something different. Sometimes that helps. Also, some strength training helps a lot. Good luck to you!
