should mobile phones be banned at school and colleges?

i think the ban should be in schools and not in college..

I don't think they should be banned, but I do believe that they should be turned off during class and kept out of sight.

Many colleges around here are banning them. Many schools here require that they be turned in at the office each morning and retrieved at dismissal. The reason is because they are being used as a mechanism to cheat.

Why? People are going to cheat regardless if cellphones are banned or not. People should stop worrying about other people, and worry about themselves. Schools should leave it up to the teachers. There are way too many prohibitions in this world as it is, there's no need to add one more. If there's a better reason for banning such devices than cheating, I'd be willing to hear it, and possibly, change my position, but if not...No ban for cellphones in school!
