Are you one of that people? Once in our life we really experience that we are absent-minded. Like for instance, my cousin run the water at the tub and then while waiting to be filled he went outside and totally forgot about it. I think all of us experience this, do you agree? will you share those times that you became absent-minded. what could be the possible reason that we became like this sometimes. Thanks for sharing

just ask your wife kindly not to shout at you if ever you tend to forget about some things that you are doing. she can always remind you about these things calmly. sometimes we get irritated when someone shouts at us. it will be good i f you talk to her about this.

i agree too, your wife shouldnt shout on you. of all the people she should be the one to understand and help you out about your being absent-minded. shouting will not help at all.

yes i do experience that. It was this last Christmas eve, I was so tired that day because of the last minute shopping for the gifts when my my mom aske d me to cook her favorite dish which is my specialty Beef Teriyaki. I was letting it boil to thicken the sauce when I walked to my room and sleep. I forgot that i was cooking something for my mom. I was awakened when the smoke alarm inour house triggered and that's the only time i remembered that i forgot to turn off the gas range. I think the possible reasons for that are we are thinking of something more important, our minds get tired, our interest was caught by something or someone.

this has happened to me many times. i have a problem coping with this problem lately. these days, i have become more and more forgetful. my friends told me that this is due to my postmenopausal whatever. and they told me, too, that this will come to pass later on. the only problem is, no one knows how long the later on will be.

I do these things too, but I never like to think of myself as absent-minded. I like to call it "full minded." Let me explain. I have a lot to remember during the day, and sometimes my brain gets so overloaded that I forget about the menial tasks in life. I do my chores and errands in order of importance, and unfortunately I do forget the little things. I wouldn't say that it is a bad thing. We can't remember everything, can we?

Absent Mindedness - Did i turn off the stove? the kitchen faucet?
i think it's not only once in our life that we experience being forgetful or inattentive, it happens to all anytime and many times, unaware that you were such. being absent minded, i think has nothing to do with age. when you lack focus on what you are doing surely you forget something."normally the symptoms of inattentiveness or absent mindedness are often obscured by problems with relationships, organization, mood disorders, substance abuse, employment or other psychological difficulties. to some extent inattentiveness is associated with melancholy (depression), anxiety, substance abuse, failure, problems with relationships, job failure or impulse control." don't you know how embarrassing this one is cheenlly? hehe. anyway, let's make fun out of it. just to brighten our day. goodluck to us! anyway, i most of the time forget that i am boiling water. you know, the old fashioned way... a kettle on the stove. i always forget. so, it always turn out to be that all the water inside the kettle had vanished! so, my mom bought this very noisy kettle... yup, the whistling kettle which truly irritates me when it's already whistling. i rush to put the stove off so, the whistling kettle can finally shut up. whenever i cook rice.. yeah, still the old fashion way... we don't use rice cooker (huhu, poor us.) most of the time, my mom asks "is someone cooking rice? something's burning!" haha. and that's the time i remember it's me who is cooking rice. one time, i went out to meet friends. i was already inside the jeepney when after a few minutes i asked myself "where am i? where am i going? why am i here?" took me a few minutes to know where i am heading and why. haha. i laughed at myself after. whenever my boyfriend and i talk, even if i am focused to what he is saying, there are things i always forget... and ask him same questions over and over again. he always ask, "is your brain okey?" . hehe. i kept on repeating questions. yup. that's me. my boyfriend said... i am already having early signs of alzheimer's. happy myLotting... but for sure, i am not forgetting you cheenlly for as long as you got that eagle on your avatar. hehe.

Oh yes sometimes I find that I am absent-minded that I found that when I went to have my shower that I prepared all of my clothes and everything that I wanted to wear and my towel was there and then when I had finished showering that I have forgotten to take the towel with me to the shower lucky for me that it was only me and my husband at home so it did not matter otherwise I would of had to call him to get my towel for me, but my husband has put something on the stove and forgot that it was on now that is dangerous luckily that I am home when he cooks.

I'm a guru at absent-mindedness (if you know what I mean). The incident that has amazed me the most so far was one day when my mum gave me a call to help her get out something from the freezer so it could defrost before she came to pick it. Guess what... I went to the freezer, got out water to drink and closed it -- that was the end. My mum came back and -- OOPS!! I forgot all about it! *LOL*

I do agree that all of us has an experience of being absent minded.I think the possible reasons of absent-minded is that when we have problems because our mind was busy worrying or thinking about our problem so we tend not to concentrate in what we are doing.Another thing is that you are not well, or you are sick, not enough sleep or your health is not good so you may tend to be tired and not in a mood to do a things. They said that being in love is also the possible reason of being an absent-minded.What do you think and why?

yeah i agree when your inlove, mostly the tendency is you became absent minded. Maybe because our mind are pre-occupied or maybe too overwhelmed of something that will result to absent-minded.

I usually experience this when I am pressured especially during finals. There was a time when I was buying iced tea in our school canteen which costs around Php 20 only and I gave the old lady Php500 coz I have no change. I went out immediately forgetting my change! She had to chase me outside just to give me my money. It happened to me thrice with the same lady. She even teased me that my mind is a bit older than hers LOL.

I've been very much absent minded when it come to cooking. I'm cooking and watch TV at the same time, since it's one of the only times I get to do so. But since it's one of the only times I get to do so, I get involved in it often and forget about dinner. So often times my husband eats 'well done' meals. :o)

oh. haha! well, trick is, keep on drinking water.. not cold though. cold water makes one's metabolism work slower. hehe. tap water will do. but crazy as i may be, i take in lukewarm water instead of tap. yeah yeah.. i know. haha. but works for me!

Yeah! I always experience that especially when cooking rice or doing stuff that doesn't require full attention. I tend to do other things and then in the end I forgot the first thing I do.

Everyone has moments where they forget stuff. You know, the person looking for their sunglasses, when they are on their head, or not being able to remember where you put your keys. BUt some people may be more forgetful than others, and I think it gets worse as we get older. I;ve never left a tub of running water, though...

yeah i get a lot of it at times..you know when you're just staring blankly at space and you dont know what's going on around you..it's funny sometimes when you forget something because of your absent-mindedness..but i think it's also dangerous..like when you're cooking then forget the stove is still on..that might cause a big fire..so i guess we should try to avoid being absent-minded..keep our minds alert all the time!

yep.. let me tell you my story.. we purchase a water filter at our apartment.. and we have 8 people living in that apartment.. the problem is that.. when they want to refill their water bottles..they leave it there... and what happen next? i think you can actually guess it... the water overflow.. and our apartment nearly flood.. wow.. i mean.. my unit...they keep repeating the same mistakes even though we've been telling them to keep an eyes on the bottles when they want to refill it.. what is wrong with them? i think they're too focus with their computer games that they are not aware with what they're doing.. gosh..

oh gosh! thats very irritating. i guess the best solution is to get the water filter and dont allow them to use it as a punishment so they will remember and learn from their mistakes. well at least a week, you try to do that until they learn....hehe
