My son got his results yesterday and now he has gone to grade 5.He was upset because he did not get the first rank he came second;by a few marks .I told him it was important for me that he had made the efforts and not the marks that he got.What do you think?

Second is bad at all! he should be proud and you should make sure he knows that You are proud of him too. and you're right, making the effort is very important..and perhaps with just a bit more effort and dedication he will get first rank next year!

Yes I am proud of him and he knows that too .It's just that feeling that ,I wish I had made little more efforts that has gripped him .I have engaged him in various activities for the holidays .I guess he will forget that soon and try working alittle harder next time!
