I am living pretty near a cemetery...well i don't see at all from my house but still i consider is very close of my home, and sometimes after i see horror movies i have "funny" questions in my mind like this... Would you buy a house when you find out that someone was murdered there? I asked my friends at work and someone said that"I guess it'd depend on the location, price and my budget too. If that house is going to be considerably cheaper than other similar properties on the market then I'd probably buy it and live in it." Hm...what about you? Would you buy a house when you find out that someone was murdered there?

Hi Augustta, you might find this interesting, where I lived as a child there was like a under-past, and one of Jack the Ripper's victims was murdered there, I had to walk through there to go to school, some people said that they could hear screams from the victim some nights, I would always run as fast as I could just to get to the other side!

Oh yes that would be cool to tour a place like that. I don't know why but I am so fascinated with these types of things. It doesn't make me sick does it? Lol. My mom and my husband say I'm sick because I get into this stuff. It's not like I'm into murderers and condone what they do it's just I wonder why they do such things and it really gets me curious. This is why I love horror movies so much. I even wrote an article for Associated Content called, "Understanding the Mind of A Psychopath." I got the idea from this thing I was watching on T.V about what makes psychopaths do what they do. Pretty fascinating stuff. :)

Now, that is something I would be interested in. I may not want to live in a haunted place but I don't mind going on a tour of the places and such.

You honestly live near a cemetery? I would love to exchange places with you ,lol.I have so many questions for ghosts that one meeting would not be enough, lol. If I am living alone and a the price of a property in a posh location is low,but it's considered haunted ,I would still be interested in it.I'd try to rent it for few months if possible and if I survive ,then I will buy it,lol. However,if I have to live with my family then I will stay away from such a place as I will not feel comfortable asking them to live in a haunted house.

I wouldn't be to concerned about it. Like you say, it still depends on price, condition of the house and location. If I really liked the house, I would buy it regardless of its past history. If the house ended up being haunted by some ghost, it would give me something to do in my spare time...ghost hunting!

Granted that I have been told by the owner/realtor/people living nearby that the someone was murdered at that house, I don't think I would still like to buy it. Of course, it's already a negative factor that would make me decide not to buy it even if it's the cheapest house I've ever canvassed. I don't wanna risk living there because first and foremost, who knows it's a place where the murderer is just living nearby. At least I know I am safe if ever I'm not gonna live there. Secondly, I'm afraid of ghosts! lol :)

Hi Augustta. Nah I couldnt and I wouldnt buy a house that had a murder in it and then to live in it, awww freaky, not for any amount of money. I just couldnt settle in it, I would always be watching into the dark places of the house and probably just freaking myself out. It'll be tooo disturbing for me.

I think a 100% with your friend, and more.. I wouln't mind at all! I don't believe in ghost houses.. and I think that what happens in the so called cursed places are a lot of different things.. and I'm almost sure that there where other persons that had the most beautifull sensations.. only no one talks about it.

I wouldn't if I knew that. I would be too scared that the place is haunted and I would probably keep on wondering where the murder happened and how. I'd have nightmares

I would jump all over buying that house! I love dealing with those types of mystical things. =p I once lived in an apartment above a movie theatre, and there was a story about that theatre. Before it showed movies, it had a stage, and there was a "crime of passion" that happened there at that time, in the upstairs part which was then a dressing room area, and later became our apartment. Some pretty interesting things happened to me in that place! I can't resist a good haunting. Though I suppose if there were a particularly malevolent spirit there that made itself known, I would have to move simply because I might not want my son in that environment.

I get scared very easy, so I would have to say no. On my honeymoon my husband started telling me some scary stories about what happened at the place we were staying at. I am sure my husband regretted it though because I wouldn't even go to the toilet on my own after that. I made him come with me every time, lol!

every house needs a bit of character and history. The more gruesome the better, it keeps the price down.lol

I love scary things, but I don't think I would be able to live in a house where someone had been murdered unless that was the only option available to me. That would just be too weird for me. I don't even want to live that close to a cemetery.

Its the kid that i worried. But having such a big family like mine, it really won't matter only the price of the house would. We are such an active family that we usually sleep past midnight but even that not all does sleep that early. I guess, it would be the ghost would be without sleep. When i was a kid i usually get ideas about the depths of the night but as i grew up it just seem to have outgrown in me. I guess we have each others preconditions on the things that surrounds us. If its cheaper & a big one i would definitely be in there, ghost or no ghost - he better live well with us - oh by the way we have more than half a dozen cats, some dogs & bit of farm animals, the ghost can certainly help me on those areas.

I don't think I could. My husband probably wouldn't care but there's no way I could deal with it. I just feel that there would be some bad karma or something going on in that place. I don't mind friendly ghosts but I don't think a victim of murder or any other type of crime is going to be too friendly. I wouldn't care how much the house cost or where it was located.

in a world were it's getting harder and harder to find a place to call home. if it's nice enough or cheap enough, i definitely owe it to myself to try to stay there.

The murder woudln't bother me, It isn't the house's fault someone got killed in it. Hey, life goes on!! I am not bothered by things like that at all. Why should I let that bother me? I wasn't involved, and I'm innocent, so what's the problem?

I don't thing I would buy a house if I knew someone was murdered there. I would not fele comfortable and strange negative things do happen in homes like these. I just would never have peace of mind, it wouldn't be worth it.

Living next or close to the cemetary wouldn't bother me but I think it would be cool. I have lived in a house where some people were murdered. We bought the house of course the real estate aren't going to tell you any way. Once we moved in we hear strange noises so we went to the library and found out abut our house. It was wild and seeing all those things and now we moved to another house .

I don't think that I could buy a house if I found out that a murder was committed there. I would think about it too much. Plus maybe the house would be haunted. My dad use to live by a cemetery. That was kind of weird.
