I am a sucker for an Aussie or Kiwi (New Zealand) accent and I love those gruff Bronx/NYC/Jersey type accents on guys. On women the Bronx/Jersey accent irritates me though! LOL

I believe the most romantic accent in the world is the old English accent i could listen to it for hours on end. French is ok too but i always found french to be the language of love to start with so that helps alot. Have a nice day my friend

A lot of people love the old English accents. I've heard women especially comment on how romantic it sounds. I have to admit the French accent is wild too. I dated a guy from France for a while and oh man he could make me smile by just talking! LOL

Hi kikat1 and hockeygal4ever I've read this discussion and I see that some people think that french accent is sexy. I'm from France, french is my native language, and everytime I speak english I have this french accent... and I hate it... I mean that's really not pretty, and I'm not the only one thinking that. If you talk with a french about her/his accent, he/she will tell you it isn't beautiful. Our english teacher hate us when we speak with the french accent but I find it difficult to have a good accent in English, some words are very difficult to pronounce and sometimes when I'm too tired, when I want to say "this" it's like "zis" Anyway, to answer to your question, I love the english accent and the american accent sometimes. Thanks for this discussion, httpx

I could listen to Antonio Banderas talking all day. It is not only his Spanish accent is is the timbre of his voice as well.

As a guy, I love the sound of almost every feminine voice, but there are some that are very grating such as the ones you mentioned, plus the loud and gruff Philly accents that some of the women here have... Oddly, Norwegian Or Icelandic Women speaking English, seems to be a big turn on for me, as well as the voices of Irish, English, Scottish, Greek and African Women... some of whom sound like they are singing to you when they talk... Fun Discussion! :) Aussie Slang Dictionary for you! :) http://www.aussieslang.com/ Heck, I just like the sound of feminine voices, period, all you Ladies ROCK! :)

I know what you mean...that gruff/nasally accent just isn't becoming on women. I am a huge sucker for accents. My favorite are Scottish, Irish, and Australian. I can't resist them. I have to watch "The Late Late Show with Craig Fergusion", every night, just so I can get a dose of his accent. What accent irriates you most on a man?

I think the tough, gruff sound of Russian men is sexy too, now that I think of it. Heck, I'm sounding like PEACHFUL up there, any man's voice! LOL Just kidding!!!!!!

I find the oriental accents sort of "cute". I suppose that would tick some people off but I don't mean it to be a bad thing. LOL

The sexiest accent- OK now all I can think of is “Yo Adrian” lol Rocky when you mention NY/Bronx. I love the British accent- Just love it! But I recently met a man from Italy and the way he miscellaneous makes me melt! So that rates right up there- He isn’t much to look at- But when I closed my eyes and just listened to him talk! Ooh la la! I guess I don’t have a favorite- I think they are all pretty sexy! Except- Y’all... From the south- that just makes me think backwards

Every once in a while I'll hear a southern accent that is sexy, not often. Isn't it hilarious how an accent can change a person? We had this very sweet but very homely Australian guy at work. He was a field worker and I talked to him often on the phone, never having a clue what he looked like but always enjoying that accent. One day he came to visit and all the women were dying to see him... when he got there the poor guy was such a disappointment to the women! LOL But every one of us agreed that as long as you kept your eyes closed and he kept talking it would all be good! LOL

I agree with you. I also like Scottish and Irish accents. Sean Connery and Colin Farrell come to mind as two examples of sexy accents.

He is very hot, I remember seeing him at the movies as James Bond, and he was so sexy. he has stayed sexy and in part I think it is because he seems so gentlemanly, but I bet there is a whole other side. Ha HA

I think Sean Connery himself just screams sexiness. It has nothing to do with the 007 movies because I've never been a big fan of those anyways but there is something about that man, perhaps the gentlemanly way, that is so hot. Even at his ancient age! I can honestly say he's on of very, very few "older" men I'd love to spend time with.

Oh oui, oui! LOL I've heard other men say that too about French accents on women. I have to admit, I dated a guy from France who lived in the states and he would drive me wild with that accent. I had forgotten the one and only other language I'm even remotely close to knowing besides English! LOL DUH!

The sexiest is French, but my favorite is any accent from Great Brittain.Give me a raspy English accent. Or a Scottish drawl, an Irish tenor that is musical, or Welsh accent like Richard Burton had. Yummy. And the beauty of the hotties from down under is great to hear.

Sorry that Bronx accents on women annoy you ;) I lived in the Bronx for 22 years. I had my accent so bad that when I first moved to Florida no one could understand me. I'd say, "Open the door" and it'd come out as "daw". Now I've pretty much lost that accent. People think I'm from the south. As for sexy accents I like British, Aussie or French accents on men. The best for me is the Brits or Aussies. I love to watch movies with their accents so much. Just to dream a bit. Many years ago I dated a Brit and I sure am sorry that I gave him the boot!

Oops... duh... should have thought about that! LOL Sorry! I think it's when they whine that it really annoys me, like "The Nanny". Face it, that voice could annoy anyone! LOL

I never sounded like the Nanny LOL! That's not the accent part. That's her voice. That is annoying. I was only kidding anyway. If you can't laugh at yourself you're in pretty bad shape I say! No problem at all. Good topic :)

For me, it's definitely an Irish accent, especially a male one (lol!!) and from in and around Dublin. It just makes me melt, hearing that beautiful accent which is poetry to the ears. A close runner-up would be an accent from the very northern-most part of Scotland, from high up in the mountains or even the Shetland Islands, where the accent is much gentler than that of further south in Scotland.

Oh I have to agree... an Irish brogue is just so hot! I think that comes with Irish men like Collin Farrell?! LOL

Could be - I'm not ever so familiar with Colin Farrell...maybe I'll look for some clips of him on YouTube and have a listen. I got hooked into the Irish accent when I used to work with a lot of people who were from Dublin, spending some time in London. It wasn't just the accents, either, as I find Irish people are generally lovely-natured too.
