when you were a young teen(13) what did you get for allowance?

as time goes on the pay goes up lol. the cost of things are different. i was talking to a friend a while back and he was saying that he got 10 cents a day for going and doing alot of work. like putting putting up fences, milking, etc. he was pushing 60 years old too. i remember my mom saying one time she got 1.00 a week for doing nothing but that is what she got. she is 51. i remember my friends got like 10.00 a week. i am 30. i didnt get allowance we just didnt have the money for it so i worked for stuff. i went to work with my grandpa and his boss paid me for things or i would do things for neighbors etc. i have a 12 year old now and she ends up with about 8.50 a week if she does everything she should. sometimes more if she does extra things. she gets paid by the job she does at the house. she was telling me though that most of her friends get like 20.00 a week for doing nothing but cleaning there room. it just shows how much the cost of living has gone up and how different times are. i was wondering how much did you get and what did you have to do? also if you dont mind say your age or at least round down to the nearest 10 lol.
